Great view of Granada there are many winding steps to get to the top so if you are claustrophic watch out. But the view is wonderful. They charged $1 to get to the top but we had to run outta there quickly because they were going to ring the bells. Only downside is that this church needs to love and care in the maintence area

Come here for the views from the bell tower - pretty sure there's nowhere else in the city you can get views from this high up (it's only a few stories high, but that's still higher than everything else around). After paying $1 per person and climbing a tight spiral staircase you are rewarded with 360-degree views of the city - particularly cool is seeing all the beautiful interior courtyards that are hidden from street view. Perfect to spend 20 or 30 minutes early in your trip to help get a sense of the layout of the city

Church itself is beautiful. Very typical old European style Catholic Church. $1 for access to the tight spiral staircase up to the bell tower with stunning 360* views and photo ops.

The Iglesia de La Merced is a beautiful church with a rich history (which includes the fact that this is the place where William Walker took his oath for the Presidency of Nicaragua). The best thing about the church though is the bell tower. A fairly steep climb on a winding staircase leads you to a viewing tower with a 360 degree view of Granada. Mombacho Volcano, the Granada Catheral, Lake Nicaragua ... they can all be seen. It's an absolutely stunning view and well worth the effort.

The view from the tower is splendid, but graffiti along the staircases is disgusting. It should be cleaned up.
