Great idea to create a hostel there. A place to meet another backpackers, to share stories, to read in the tree or to practice yoga. Nice place, if you are carrying a backpack and not a have heavy suitcase. When you go there you'll understand why - its hard & stiff to get there.

The dorm is basic, has beds and lockers (big lockers). Forget about TV and couches. There is internet connection, but only one can use it in the same time. There is a basic kitchen. The staff is very friendly, the manager as well.
Has a composting WC, shower as well.

The location is great, but not easy accessible - you need to take a taxi from Granada, or a chicken bus, then walk one km.

Bottom line : If you like comfort and cozy, better stay in Granada. If you like adventure, rustic and party - dont miss it.

Hola and thanks for your review, I realise it was quite sometime ago you stayed here & we never thanked for your feedback! We are also under new management now and have done a lot of work on The Treehouse. Hopefully if you are back in Nicaragua you can come and see the changes we have made :) all the best - Jon

I've spent one unforgettable night at Poste Rojo. I met so many travelers from all over the world. The location was inspiring, the people were inspiring. I left Nica to fly back home to Michigan but my very dear friend actually stayed and worked at the tree house for over a week. It's truly is a beautiful and clean place. I highly recommend it. Especially if you've never experienced a tree house as an adult. ;-)

The owners of Poste Rojo traveled extensively and created a hostel that's an amalgamation of everything cool elsewhere--set in a TREEHOUSE in the JUNGLE. Then they added the little things that we all wished were in every hostel.
The rules are minimal and common sense. Everyone is easy to get along with and when they throw a party, it doesn't get any better (Yeah, bocas is cool too...)
Poste Rojo is as unique and amazing as anywhere i have EVER stayed. However, there is one disclaimer: The elderly, extremely young children, and the boring should stay at the Oasis and get a drink with an umbrella on gringo street.

Room Tip: even if you sleep in the dorms, you can still find some privacy on the yoga platform

I stayed as a volunteer at Poste Rojo for approximately three months within a six month trip. It left me with memories to keep forever. Not only can I say I worked in a treehouse, I can say I was surrounded by the most beautiful scenery every single waking day. Monkeys, treefrogs, snakes and spiders! I loved it all! This is the most unique hostel, offering so much in terms of experience and enjoyment. I will keep my Poste Rojo experience close to my heart and recommend it to anyone traveling through Central America! I hope to be back.

Love you Treehouse Poste Rojo!

Spent Christmas of 2011 at Poste Rojo. Had turkey, gravy, dressing, sweet potatoes, and pecan pie! What more could you ask for? The mood was mellow and the surroundings were surreal! Loved it! Will be back and soon.

Room Tip: The casitas need to be used more.
