“What a decorative place - like out of a movie!”

Casa Cubana is a stylish Boutique guesthouse where I definitely want to go back to. Hopefully it won't be too long!! Everything is arranged and placed neatly and furniture and decorative items were very well chosen. The small pool surrounded by gorgeous tropical plants and a few hammocks is a dreamy place. Staff is very kind and Amanda, the host, is a darling. She is kind, helpful and very professional. I felt very good there and I wish them all the very best.

Casa Cubana is hands-down one of the greatest places I have stayed in, and I had a truly wonderful stay there about two months ago.

The first thing that should be mentioned, is the exceptional way in which the place is run. Instead of making you feel like a guest in a hotel, you are immediately made to feel like an invited family friend, staying for a few nights at a beautfiul family residency. Amanda, the Manager, goes out of her way to make sure all guests feel truly welcome and at home.

For myself, as a British citizen and living here in Nicaragua, thus a long way from home, this feeling of being so welcome was extremely appreciated.

It is the little details that cout, such as knowing that my girlfriend and I are both living in Nicaragua, Amanda cooked us up a delicious breakfast in the morning different to the normal gallo pinto and scrambled eggs, in order to give us a difference to the norm.

As we relxed in the hotel`s lovely swimming pool we were also really made to feel at home. We were provided with drinks and delicious snacks, invited to select our choice of music, and in general spoken to as friends and not as guests.

The hotel is also absolutley beautifully designed. The room we stayed in was wonderful, and to walk outside the room to the swimming pool, hammocks, kitchen and dining area (where you can go up, take yourself a beer out the fridge and jot it down when you pay the bill at the end, is fantastic).

I would 100% recommend Casa Cubana. It makes for a beautiful, relaxing and very, very welcoming spot to spend a few days in Granda. It is a lovely hotel, and impecablly run. I really hope to get back there again somepoint soon.

Room Tip: All of the 5 rooms look beautiful

This is the best place we have ever stayed, and we have stayed in quite a few top rated places over years of travelling. We loved our stay at Casa Cubana especially because we found it to be an incredibly beautiful and charming oase in the middle of a bustling city. It has the quaint charm of a small boutique hotel and coming from the streets of Granada it just feels like a different world to enter the beautifully restored house of the former Cuban Doctor in town. You will find the most beautiful green garden with a swimming pool in the middle, which you can also enjoy from the roof covered relax and breakfast area. The rooms are spacious and decorated with respect for the colonial style yet still offering all the modern conveniences of aircon, multi channel TV and WiFi. Everything is clean. The bathroom has plenty of small and big soft towels, and last but not least the breakfast is a fenomenal mix of local and western world food items like american pancakes and lots of fruit. This is a true gem run by the most warm and lovely american, portugese couple. Do not miss out staying here, but be aware there are only a few rooms in the house!

We arrived at Casa Cubana to meet Amanda, the manager/owner who was the most gracious host. Her knowledge of Granada definitely made our experience in Nicaragua. She had great travel tips regarding tours and sightseeing, helping us arrange things, and even giving us a ride to her other resort (san simian in volcan apollo-AMAZING).

Casa Cubana was very clean, open with high ceilings, had a good AC and ceiling fans and a breakfast made to order (eggs, omelets, pancakes, fresh fruit). It is far enough from the city centre that there is not too much traffic or noise.

The one potential drawback, which wasnt too bad for us, was a local bar around the corner. Late night noise may be expected on weekend nights, but it didnt bother us too much b/c we were around the corner.

Room Tip: Just talk to Amanda....

The Ginger Suite was named after me as I was one of the original guests. I was lucky enough to be a guest at Casa Cubana for three months in 2010 while I was volunteering with La Esperanza Granada. I returned to Casa Cubana last week after spending a couple of nights in Managua (at a well-recommended hotel with tiny rooms and tiny bathrooms). I was curious to see the changes at Casa Cubana. What a beautiful gem. The rooms are huge and beautifully decorated. The owners and manager obviously care about the comfort of their guests. I mean a makeup table in the spacious bathroom! With a makeup mirror I wanted to steal. The garden is glorious and the charming pool a welcome relief after tromping around Granada. Not a single mosquito bite nor early morning crowing of roosters to disturb your blissful sleep. Amanda's sumptuous breakfast feasts will destroy your appetite for lunch. Reserve and enjoy!

What a great place to escape, like staying with old friends. Amanda and Victor will have you feeling comfortable and cozy from the second you walk in the door. The location is adjacent to the heart of the city filled with local colors and sounds of the Nica culture, however not too close that you can't find a little peace and quit. Relax with a drink in Victor's martini pool. The courtyard is an oasis of lush greens, flowers and cool blues, time just flows without a care. Unless you care for one of Amanda's gourmet breakfasts. Do yourself a favor and allow her to just impress you with a surprise. All served from the open air kitchen and seating area. Or if you do have a craving for pecan pancakes Hers are to die for, with a side of bacon, local fruits and juice.. What a grand way to start your day.

Feel free to review your plans with Amanda, she can add the icing on the cake with her local knowledge and connections... Especially if you enjoy a good message or need an insiders take of where best to spend your time.. Granada is a treasure chest filled with warm people, history, architecture and good restaurants all surrounded with jungles, volcanoes, and lakes. Casa Cubana a rare find...A priceless jewel...

Please tell them, "Hi, from Bret and Wendi.".

Safe travels to all.

This is a gem. Take a look at our room (great AC, overhead fan ... and an amazing bathroom). After walking and enjoying the Colonial town of Granada ... the small pool in the garden courtyard was a perfect end to each day. Casa Cubana is a short cab ride to the center of the city ... but it's only about an easy ten block walk. We felt the location was great ... close to restaurants, but seemed tucked away and was very quiet. There are just four rooms and the guests tended to join to share their plans for the day at the large breakfast table, and again, at the end of their day in the courtyard before heading out to dinner. Breakfast was terrific. Amanda, the manager, is the chef ... and she also knows all kinds of places to see and things to do ... she's great resource.
