Description: Nectar Restaurant & Bar is located on Calle La Calzada, a pedestrian-friendly street in the heart of Granada's historic colonial downtown. Located only 1/2 block East (towards the Lake) of Parque Central & the main Cathedral, our street-side dining offers up the best people watching around while our beautiful covered courtyard provides some peaceful respite from Granada's hustle and bustle. We've got you covered for whatever mood your in. We delight in offering a menu featuring some traditional Nicaraguan fare (Enchiladas, Tostones con Queso, Ropa Vieja and more), wonderful organic salads, tasty ceviche, fish tacos, burritos & homemade desserts, including Cheesecake, Flan de Coco and our world famous Lava Cake. ALL of our rum cocktails are made with Nicaraguan Flor de Cana rum, never the cheap stuff. We also offer up some local Craft Beer, made available by our friends at La Portena in San Juan Del Sur as well as Campo Brew Co. out of Tola. We source all our products locally and shop daily to ensure we have the freshest of the fresh. And perhaps most importantly, our staff is the real thing-- warm, friendly, and genuinely caring. Hard-working Nicaraguan hospitality at its very best! Be sure to check out our 2x1 Happy Hour from 3-6 Daily or stop by and enjoy our below zero beer. Perfect for those hot Granada days!

“Great Spot for Happy Hour!”
Reviewed December 22, 2013

This is a nice place to sit early evening. Right on the Calzada, you can watch all the people go by, and the street performers. 2 for 1 happy hour, with half price appetizers, makes this a happening place for tourists and locals alike. Great food, and great drinks!

“Great spot for happy hour”
Reviewed December 19, 2013

This is the place for happy hour. You get 2 for one drinks and half price appetizers and they don't skimp. Right on the main street for great people watching. They also have a really excellent Cuban Sandwich with hot fresh made bread. Good spot.

“Great Streetside Seating”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

We stopped here for a few drinks on our first evening in Granada. The location seems to be in the busiest part of the three or so blocks that have restaurants, pubs and shops. You have a front row seat for all the street entertainment. We saw mimes, dancers, break dancers and fire jugglers all performing for tips. Also you will be approached by many people selling items and by boys that make hearts, insects and flowers by weaving some kind of long leaves. If you find this overwhelming there is a nice interior courtyard inside this restaurant that would be a nice place for a quiet dinner.
We liked the look of the menu so a group of 14 of us returned for dinner the next evening. We tried many things from the menu and everyone enjoyed their meals. We had been in Nicaragua for 8 days and previously we were staying in a small village where it was difficult to get many vegetables during our meals so everyone was raving about the salads. Also another favourite dish was a jalapeno chicken crepe and the molten lava cakes.
We returned for happy hour in the late afternoon a few times because the had some really nice cocktails and the sangria was very good. Also the staff were very friendly and the service was very good.

“OK food, but not spectacular”
Reviewed December 3, 2013

Nectar looks nice from the outside and their staff is nice, but the food wasn´t great. The banana and cheese weren´t very tasty, and the Greek salad wasn´t too creative. Their hummus was really good though. But we´ve had better eating experiences in Granada.

“Great cocktails”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

We had the happy hour cocktails, and the Mai Tai and the Mojito were delicious. They also have 50% off appetizers as part of happy hour but we missed out. The outdoor dining was great, and the big chairs were very relaxing. But sitting outside means you do get a lot of the locals coming up trying to sell you there wares.
