“A Granada Jewel.....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2010

Spent 2 nights . A beautiful restored Colonial house. Spacious, clean and friendly place to stay. The hosts Owen and Becky were awesome, making it a very special location. Great breakfast , cooked to order by Owen. Will return to this Granada Jewel again.

The previous reviews on TripAdvisor were right. This is a great little find. A really beautiful colonial style guest house with only two guest rooms. Spacious rooms look over the interior courtyards, which include a nice little pool to dip into on those sweltering days. Rebecca and Owen were the greatest hosts. We really enjoyed their assistance, advice, delicious breakfasts, and their company. It is located a very short walk to the centre of town.

Miss Margrit's Guest House has got to be the best kept secret in Granada, Nicaragua. Unassuming from the street and away from the hotel district, you would never expect or imagine what lies inside of the huge wooden doors. We found a beautiful pool, grand living room, large inner courtyard and fountain, outdoor kitchen and dining room next to the pool and the rooms are equally grand and spectacular. The wooden floors, stairscases and hallways upstairs are beautiful as are the intricate tile downstairs. Attention to detail is apparent everywhere you look. The hosts are a wonderfully sweet, accomodating young English couple. We could not have been happier with our stay. If we ever come to Granada again, we would definitely stay here. Just a wonderful spot.

There are only 2 guestrooms in this spacious well-renovated house that not only you get very good personal attention (the hosts were like friends), you really feel that you are a guest in a home, not just a guest in a hotel. That means one has to book early to avoid disappointment.

Becky and Owen, a young British couple, are managing the house renovated by Becky's mother. They were really helpful and friendly.

The spacious room comes with a small chandelier and I love the idea of having a fan in the bathroom. This small luxury is really important to cope with the tropical heat. The aircon cools the room well and fast too. The bathroom comes with extremely big and thick bath towels. The shower was good, with hot water too.

Owen will check with you what options you would like to have for breakfast. They served great coffee and an excellent home-made local honey. Other items include yoghurt, freshly squeezed passion fruit juice, fruit salad, toasted bread with assorted jam and butter. One of the best breakfast of our trip.

Becky and Owen often glady let us accessed internet using their laptops, which we appreciated.

It is not as centrally located as other guesthouses but it is a really lovely experience.

I never seen a so relaxed and nice place in Nicaragua.
The inside courtyards and the privacy are amazing.

Recently spent 7 nights at this amazing B and B. The location is great about 10 mins walk from the main square and 2 doors away from a unique bar where you will not see other tourists! The house has a huge open couryard and pool, with use of large living area with tv. Our bedroom was large and attractive. The best part was the company of Becky and Owen, truly hospitable people with nothing too much trouble. Our breakfasts were great with organic bread, fruits and great coffee. Owen fixes a mean Flor de cana!
Would highly recommend this place to anyone. Go Arsnell!

What an amazing find. Our stay at Miss Margrit's was such a pleasant surprise. We would have never expected our hosts to be so generous and welcoming. What a place to come back to relax after a long day of exploring the surrounds of Granada. The place is certainly an oasis with great open spaces to lounge in, and rooms and baths appointed with great fixtures you'd see in a luxury hotel. But kindness and friendliness of our hosts made it feel like a home away from home. They made us feel like we were visiting with long time friends.
