“Charm, character and location”

We loved the location of this hotel. The ability to walk to dinner each night and enjoy the local town. Drive each day to a new location and explore what Nicaragua has to offer. The staff of the hotel was great, my kids couldn't wait to wake up each morning to go on the rooftop terrace and then go down the spiral staircase to see what we wonderful breakfast we would receive. The AC and shower and TV were all such amenities to enjoy at the end of long adventurous days.

I have stayed at virtually every hotel in Granada during my 7 years of living in Nicaragua. My search is over and I will stay at La Islita from now on. The staff makes me feel at home, the rooms are the best value in town and the wireless internet works.

We have travelled to many countries and experienced a good variety of accomodations and would like you all to know that this hotel is exactly as advertised and more. If you want to arrive at a small, well-priced, convenient but quiet hotel after a long flight, this is the one. If you appreciate hospitable hosts and friendly and helpful staff, this is the one. Give Emmet the dog a scratch behind the ears for us, enjoy a cool drink from the fridge, sit beneath one of the cooling fans in the beautifully tiled lobby or rooftop deck with a view and plan to be as busy as you like in this colonial city.

La Islita is in a great location in Granada--tucked away on its own street but close to the best restaurant- El Zaguan and the town's attractions. The rooms and space have beautiful tiles, high ceilings, quiet A/C, and softest linens. Tim, Andres, and Emmet (family cocker spaniel) and staff were so welcoming and helpful steering us to the main and off-the-beaten track sights based on our interests. The best room has a balcony overlooking the mango tree. Great breakfasts--best coffee and fresh squeezed oj that tastes as sweet as pineapple juice! Can't wait to go back!
One caveat: If you don't like rooster crows then stay in the best room we mentioned above or ask the staff for a room change.

WOW!! More than just a hotel, it truly is a boutique, a gem; it was/is a home away from home. I can not say anything negative about my stay. From the owners to the staff, all were very attentive and went above, what I think the call of duties. The suite was immaculate (everyday) and spacious. The rooftop terrace exhibited amazing views of the city and the Mombacho Volcano. The proximately to the "Lincoln Road" of Granada and other local favorites, made it that much easier to love this hotel and its location. My partner and I both have nothing but positive remarks about our stay and we have already booked another stay.

I just returned from staying at this hotel during my four nights in Granada. This was the best place we stayed while on our trip in Nicaragua. The owners were so very helpful and wanted to help us have a great trip any way they could. Our room was spacious and very clean and the beds were very comfortable. It's also within walking distance to the center of town.

La Islita caters to travelers who are use to spending more money on food, lodging, etc. I and my friend stayed at La Islita because we planed our spring break travels at the last minute and all of the other less-expensive places were taken. For as much as we paid, we were disappointed that there wasn't even any soap made available in the bathroom. (There was a little container of shampoo and a little container of body lotion, but a little bar of soap would have come in handy.) With that said, Tim and Andres are incredibly welcoming and helpful. La Islita is a wonderful place to stay for those looking for a quiet, classy place to stay.
