Definitely the place to be - O Sheas was consistently the busiest bar all the nights we were in Granada, and their 2 for 1 happy hour deals were great.

O'Shea's is a place I visit whenever I am in Granada. Located on the busy main street, it's a great place to catch the breeze coming off the lake while enjoying a cold one, watching the sights and sounds of Granada pass by. The bar is frequented by locals, not just visitors, attesting to it's value and quality. The staff is probably the best in the city. The menu has many choices with appetizers, great smoothies, and chicken, fish, pork, steak, pasta, salads, etc. My personal favorite is always the Fish and Chips - fresh caught fish delivered daily to the restaurant ensures high quality served with a large sized portion of really good fries for a very low cost - can't beat it! I ALWAYS go to O'Shea's!

Now:
I've read some less-than-flattering reviews on this site about this restaurant and I'd like to make a comment or two regarding these reviews....First, you are in Nicaragua folks...it's a 3rd world country. Your waiter probably will not speak English, get over it! there is always someone on staff or nearby to help if you need assistance - just ask! If your food delivery is taking a little longer than you expected it to, look around....this staff is busting their butts to get food out to alot of people, not just you...tranquillo....it'll come. If it's not what you ordered, or it's not good, say something to the manager, don't just eat it and then post a bad review! I ordered their fish and chips my last visit and it was not good at all...I asked the assistant manager Brian to take a look at it. He promptly returned the plate to the kitchen. A new cook-in-training had inadvertently used the wrong fish for this dish and it came out mushy. A new plate was delivered to me at no cost with the thanks of the owner for pointing that out. The table next to me then ordered 4 plates of the dish and they, like me, enjoyed it very much. Thank you Brian and Tom for delivering good quality food at a good price.

And yes, this place can get noisy and busy at times especially during high season! but that's the beauty of Granada, it's different. it's not like "where you are from"...with street vendors, musicians, acrobats, dancers, etc. vying for your attention and your change it can get overwhelming at times! BUT...I've never felt unsafe, or even hassled by any of them, thanks to the extra security at O'Shea's, not every place has that...so, viva la difference! Relax and enjoy the show!

The St. Paddy's Day party there this year was awesome! Picture posted from that night...alot of fun!

So, when you are in Granada, check out O'Shea's... or their new restaurant/hotel O'Shea's south, near San Juan Del Sur...I haven't been there yet but knowing Tom, it'll be great!

We spent a few nights here at O'Shea's (pronounced O Shaya by the locals) as they had a great patio space and good deals on the drinks and not just beer.

The service was really good there and the staff were very upbeat on St Paddy's day itself and were offering green beer to celebrate.

There was a good mix of expats and locals so was good just to talk to others at the bar and outside or have a good time in your own party. It was a great bar for going out and drink or two!

I had 3 meals here while in Granada. The fish and chips were the best I had in Nicaragua. The filet mignon was also very good and around half the price of El Zaguan although not quite as good. It is quieter here around lunch time and easier to get an outdoor table than at dinner time. In terms of atmosphere, you can have street vendors trying to sell you items while you are here but if you are at the right table you can also see street performers doing a show so it has it's good and bad. All the prices are reasonable and I would definitely eat here again.
