we stayed for 2 nights.the rooms were not bad but really overprised.we had the swimming pool view were i think it is the best rooms to choose at this hotel.it has no beach but you walk just 5 min and you reach one of the most beautifull beaches you have ever seen.clear light green waters with avariety of marine life.the breakfast was not good at all but there are plenty of choices on the road.my room was very clean and the showers were great.quite area by the pool so this is the best place to sleep and relax.if it was cheaper i would stay there more

Room Tip: stay by the swimming pool

That was very-very dirty room with bad smell. Sheets was dirty, bathroom.. Oh. Very-very bad room. That was awful night before we leave island. I will never come back to Plaloma! Plaloma hasn't beach. That's only stones! The nearest normal beach is situated in 15 min of walking. Not so far. Breakfast usual. Staff don't speak English, Russian. They don't know even simple phrases.

Don't waist your time with this excuse for a resort.. It's over priced, old, dirty, and they even charge for the water. The food sucks. Showers don't have hot water, swimming pool is dirty and full of chlorine.. Anywhere else has to be better....

Stayed here for 3 nights. Rented a little bungalow with sea view. A little dated inside. Horrible mattress. Water from shower smelled of rust. The breakfast was the same as any other hotel with it included, nothing stood out to me. The owner was friendly to us when we came to inquire about his resort like setting, but we booked thru Agoda. The price was cheaper on there than what he quoted me. ( tip: Agoda is cheaper for all hotels booked in Thailand) so after we booked he didn't even say hello or welcome. One of the front desk ladies when we went to check out looked up at us and said What! Well that won't get me back. The other lady there was very nice (maybe his wife) I did go and ask for a 3rd pillow and was told No!
All in all it wasn't bad! It was quiet and very beautiful but I won't be back, it's all attitude! If it was friendlier I could look past the mattress & water smell from shower. No beach large grass area with rock wall again beautiful

We are a mid twenty something year old couple...so we decided to stay at white sand beach a day before going down to lonely beach. So we found plaloma in our price range. Our room had the BEST ocean view. However the room itself was outdated. bef SUPER uncomfortable. Our room was a 5 min walk to the pool/ lobby. But I would rather be a little farther then right by the pool. Pool was nice. Too much chlorine. The ocean restaurant was very romantic. They they brought by mosquito candles as well . Breakfast was okay except the servers were rude.
Only thing worth really going here for is the view.

Plaloma Cliff Resort is located at the southern end of White Sand Beach. The hotel its self looks unchanged from when it was built (at least 20 years ago) and as a result looks very dated to today's travellers. The resort land goes straight onto the water however it is rocky, to get to the beach you have to walk 5 minutes north.

My wife and I checked in there for a couple of nights and ended up staying the week. We got a room with a nice sea view and found our time there quite enjoyable after visiting the busier areas of Koh Samui and Pattaya. The rooms itself are dated and with horrible coloured bedding. The bathroom doesn't have any exhaust fan which we also found a bit annoying. However, the hotel seemed quiet, food and drinks were cheap and it was an easy stroll into town.

One of the most disappointing aspects of the hotel were the staff in the upper area (reception/ breakfast area) It always seemed to be way overstaffed and if you asked for anything you were made to feel as though you were interrupting them. The staff were always pre-occupied with having their own dinner or talking with other staff. Minimal english made it hard to talk to the staff. The owner of the hotel who was often present was however very friendly. He had lived on the island for a long time, was full of information and took the time to get to know many of his guests. Breakfast was at best, average. If you are staying there more than a night you will get very bored of the same tasteless fare. There were no phones in the room, in order to get room service we had to go out to order it.

The bottom bar (near the water) was old, leaked when it rained and I believe it only opens during the busier periods of the year. We spent a load of time down there and found it a very beautiful place to watch the sunset off the west side of the island. We had dinner at the hotel a few times during our stay, the (thai) menu was a little small but the chef made the food to our taste. We didn't try the western food except a burger which was average. Chang beers cost around 55baht each which I was really happy with and the bartender "Jack" made my wife fruit cocktails on request. "Jack" was really helpful for us and he helped us to enjoy our stay as much as we did.

It was advertised that they had parking. Which they did but it was a small carpark on the other side of the road from the hotel. Because of this it wasn't very secure and filled up with all the mini-buses off the island. My car was scratched while parking there.

Room Tip: The closer you can get to the ocean is the further you are from the bars across the road and should...
