We just spent 2 weeks at this wonderful tropical beach location. The bungalows are perfect for the basics of any beach holiday with a good sized double bed, fan or aircon and en-suite shower/toilet. The rooms have mosquito screens on the windows so it is easy enough to keep out the mossies and have fresh air in your room. Best to track down the mossies during the day in your room, then keep the door shut during dusk and there should be no need for a mossie net at night. The location is the real deal. Wake up and step out onto your own veranda where you can sit and take in the lush views out over the palm lined sandy beach onto the calm clear waters on the sheltered bay. Swimming is great here - no rip currents and the bay is shallow out to 100m so very easy swimming. The food served from the on-site restaurant is great and you can ask for vegetarian food (which they understand the concept of). They serve fresh coconuts fruit shakes made with fruit and ice (ask for no sugar if you want just fruit). Cocktails are well made and very tasty. The boys that serve and take orders are sweet and really want to provide you with the best experience. The kitchen staff take great pride in the making and presentation of your food. The cleaning staff are lovely. You get 2 free bottles of water everyday too. There are sun loungers and deckchairs right on the water's edge with parasols and tables for drinks. They do a fish barbeque every night and the sunset view from the beach is stunning. This place is a place to relax and unwind from the stresses and strains of your everyday life. We felt completely rejuvenated by our experience here. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Room tip: There are 5 bungalows at the front of the of Klong Kloi Cottages that are spaced out in a semi circle that have a clear view straight onto the beach. These are slightly more expensive than the 16 bungalows behind these that are under palm trees and more 'in the jungle' than on the beach. Of the 5 at the front 3 have aircon and 2 dont - ask for your preference.

My friend Jungle Jim and I recently stayed there during the monsoon period at this charming bungalow resort on the beach at Bang Bao on Koh Chang island in Thailand. The owners Mr. A and his lovely partner Oil really look after you and make you feel welcome. The resort is only 2 years old with bungalows ranging in price (low season) from 600 baht with air conditioning and hot water to 300 baht with a fan and cold water. I chose a 400 baht beach front bungalow which had a queen size bed, fan and bathroom with cold water. It was nice and clean, free drinking water daily and cleaned every three days or when you wanted. The staff are happy and friendly with two great cooks, the food is great! To the left of the resort, the beach is free of rocks and safe swimming with no undertow. There is a great regaee bar just to the right of the resort called T bar owned by Mr. Tee which is a fun place in the evening for drinks and to play live music if you are a muso. Bang Bao fishing village is only 20 minutes walk with a 7/11 store. For a laid back holiday away from the boom boom bars and main stream tourist spots, stay here!

Room tip: The bungalows are the best value for the price at Klong Kloi beach!

I found Klong Kloi Cottage by accident (it was newly built) and 'really the best place to stay in Klong Kloi Beach at 1 km. from Bang Bao.
Whoever goes to Koh Chang can not miss going to Bang Bao, and 'a beautiful village, very charming. The beach is called Klong Kloi: The Klong Kloi Cottage is site about half of beach: is extremely well managed from the beautiful and gentle Oil, the room house is a very nice, clean and furnished with very good gusto.Complete a huge bathroom and comfortable. The food is excellent: the best in Thailand, the bungalow costs only 700 THB (16 €.!)Must try!
