“Cheap, Quick, Fresh seafood”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

Caught a taxi to the Nong Bua. Tried it because it is always packed full of people every evening. Large selection of fresh seafood, cooked to your liking. Steamed white Snapper with two BBQ'd large tiger prawns and a Squid in a garlic & lemon sauce was very enjoyable. 600 baht with a large bottle of Chang. How good is that ? Rating 8/10

Above average and decent evening BBQ. Food was good but like many restaurants the service is terrible but if you can over look not a bad place to go.

“Very, Very Good”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

We had lunch here and we were really impressed with every dish ordered (and we ordered a few). I only really knew about this place as I had been on a cycling trip with the owners boyfriend the previous day. Whilst there is nothing wrong with the outward appearance of this place I think it's fair to say that there isn't anything that would scream at you to dine here as you could walk past. That would be a big mistake!! The food was really, really good!! We had a couple of soups (a less spicey one for our daughter) and they were great and all of the seafood ordered was terrific.

My wife is Thai as were are great many of the diners here and that is always a sure sign that the food is good. It was all really resonably priced also.

“Bad service and food....overrated”
Reviewed May 20, 2013 via mobile

Ate here after walking past a few times and seeing how busy it always was, so thought it must be good, as there were lots of locals eating here as well as tourists.

We ordered the fish cakes, chilli basil chicken and a prawn stir fry which in the picture, had big juicy prawns on display. Fish cakes were ok, but the other meals were small in serving size and the prawns in the dish were little shrimps instead! Even the rice serving was small. Staff were rude and didn't make eye contact, smile or anything they just stood there impatiently like we were disrupting them or something by taking our order. No idea why this place is so popular! If ur after good Thai seafood the Sabay bar on the beach is much better. Good food, service and ambience there.

“Dirty restaurant”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

Visited here for the first and last time. Good point first some friendly staff others not so friendly.large portions of tasty food which we were enjoying until we witnessed the left over food being piled onto a trolley and then sieved through by staff and loaded into carrier bags. The carrier bags were then either taken and dumped outside to reduce waste village for proprietor or staff take home . We witness a member off staff eating from left overs on the table as she was clearing away DISGUSTING !!!!!
To add further there was a man on his motorbike filling two blue barrels from this same trolley with liquid waste next to the tables where we were eating and nipping off and returning with empty barrels to complete the task over. If this goes on please not in front of the customers.
