Description: Nature Rocks Restaurant and Bar Nature Rocks Restaurant and Bar is as old as the resort itself. When the resort first opened in 1999, the restaurant was one of the only few places backpackers finding themselves lost in Lonely Beach, either because of its imperturbable tranquility or its seemingly far-off location from the more developed locales like White Sand Beach or Kai Bae Beach back then, would be able to take shelter for food after a long day out in the sun at as the number of restaurants was only microscopic. The restaurant that you are now ensconced in while soaking in the beautiful view of the ocean and trying to decide between Pad Thai or Green Curry (why not order both?), however, is not what used to stand here initially. Over the course of the resort's food scene, we have gone from being a mere no-frills joint with just enough tables to keep staying guests from going famished to now a quite coming-together beachfront eatery - the current version - which boasts a sprawling thatch-roofed pavilion, quaint and quirky bar, and split level dining spaces with assorted seating arrangements for diners visiting from everywhere. Despite the growing up part, the simple concept of the restaurant remains unchanged : we want to make good comfort food by using only fresh produce from local farmers and sell it at a reasonable price. We offer a gamut of authentic Thai dishes with recipes derived from our old-school chef who has been the kitchen's matron since the very beginning. Highlights from the her brainchildren include our scrumptious Stir-fried Chicken with Cashew Nuts, which many tout as the creme de la creme of its kind. Well, at least in the island! Our aromatic Baked Prawns with Vermicelli is also like no other as we opt to use bacon - arguably everyone's to-die-for unwholesome delicacy of all time - instead of pork fat, which is usually added in the dish for the sake of keeping the glass noodles untangled but always ends up being contemptuously dismissed unless chunks of pure pork fat are something you are after. For diners fancying to experience chowing down on their food right off some unconventional container, we have Pineapple Fried Rice served in a freshly cut pineapple shell and Tom Yum Prawns with Young Coconut Meat served in a fresh whole coconut waiting for you. Not only the Thai food is what the restaurant specializes in. Yes, shoutouts to all those salads, pasta, pizzas, burgers and Mexican delights lovers. We do have all. Our western food dishes were fashioned by a veteran Finnish chef who landed the job at the resort in 2006 and successfully talked us into - then still a humble restaurant with limited Western fare - building him a separate playground where he would roll with ample leeway as well as much cooler kitchenware needed for his Western cooking (for instance, an oven for baking pizzas, which is never called for in Thai cuisine!). Prior to his departure some good years later, he extensively trained the fellow chefs, making sure that his handed over recipes would always end up tasting the same. His secrets to making luscious homemade balsamic syrup and tomato sauce are still hidden in our kitchen's trove. Popular picks include Insalata Caprese, Al Pesto Genovese, Cheese and Bacon Beef Burger, and Toasted Cheese Nachos.

We were stuck in a rain storm and ran in for a quick bite just off Lonely Beach..... The massaman curry- Best in Thailand and we were there for over a month. Definitely worth a bite if you have an appetite & are near Lonely Beach.

The headline pretty much says it all. Location is fantastic, really great night time parties and drinks. Good spot to hang out with friends for a drink, Thai food is much better than the western which is strange and pricy.

Want a snack or a meal if you are on the beach then this is a nice restaurant, typical Thai and western food.
