My friend had stayed here before and said how great it was. But it's only til you stay that you realise how beaitiful it actually is. Chris can't do enough for you, Pong is so lovely, and Geng plays the best tunes - so good that you won't want to leave the bar. And the whole place is designed so you can chill in a hammock with a beer watching the sea with some chilled out tunes in the background, or get up and have a dance if it takes your fancy. Reclining leather cushions and an amazing view means that a few hours pass by before you'd even notice. Rooms have air con and fans as well as hot showers. Get the rooms closest to the water, leave the curtains open for a gorgeous view to wake up to. I can't recommend this place highly enough... it's pretty special!

Ok, so this place is amazing. It's super hidden away, so you really gotta look for it. But this place was a dream for the mere pennies it cost to stay there! First, I reccomend to anyone going to Koh Chang, and looking for a more relaxed environment, to stay near Lonely Beach (south island, away from all the big resorts). The staff were super friendly (ok it was low season, so they probably didn't have much else to do but attend to us). Even though I arrived right before a lovely tropical storm moved over, the stay was still great. The outdoor bar/lounge was a great starting point for the day. The drawback here is that they dont have a beach (its all rocky) but they have made their own, so this shouldn't deter you from staying here. My biggest reccomendation is to spend the extra couple bucks and make sure you are in a concrete hut with air conditioning. I stayed in one of the other huts which was a better deal, but um, yea...it was "rustic", no A/C and no electrical outlets, but again, I wasn't going to thailand for luxury, so it wasn't all that bad. The guy that runs the place is hilarious, and is always hanging around, and good for a laugh!
The food was really good, and it wasn't too hard to find some fun stuff to do. They ordered me a scooter, which of course, i promptly crashed. Their staff helped me bandage myself up, and the biggest thing, was I didnt get screwed on the damage. A common "scam" in Thailand is that you scratch a scooter, and they charge you for a brand new one (20,000 baht). But the scooter rental that Paradise Cottage used, was super nice, and only charged me 1,200 Baht....they obviously care enough about their guests to properly vet their suppliers, and that says alot for a small hotel!
If you are looking for a relaxing spot (though I hear their parties are pretty epic in the high season), this is the spot for you!

Room Tip: Spend the extra couple bucks to make sure your room is a Concrete newer room (usually they are the o...

We stumbled on this hidden gem quite by accident when we were looking for somewhere to spend our last two nights on Koh Chang. We happened to see a sign for this place from the main road directing visitors down a little side road. We followed the sign, had a look round, liked what we saw and booked in. Great decision. Fantastic views, clean rooms, comfy beds and air con (you will need it!), lovely bar area with hammocks playing some great chill out music. The food was not the best I've had in Thailand and it was a little expensive, but tasted good. Overall, I'd stay here again for sure, but probably choose to eat elsewhere in Lonely Beach,

We didn't book accommodation in Lonely Beach and decided to ask the first person we saw to recommend a place and this sent us to Paradise. It really felt like paradise, we spent 4 days here and during our stay we had the best service, music and bar anyone can ask for. Beautiful sunsets and food also included...

Because of a previous bad hotel, we were looking for a new place on Koh Chang. We got in touch with paradise cottages because of the good recommendations and I can say that it's one of the better secrets of the island.

The food is nice, the views are stunning and the staff and even the manager is kind.

There are also packages for tours and minibuses that have a great value for your money.

The rooms are simple but clean and the windows are muscito protected. We were on the second row. The vibe is very relaxing, so if you want to be busy continuously don't come here.

As backpackers we found our stay at Paradise Cottages amazing. It was excellent value for money, the rooms/bathrooms were clean and spacious and the location was great! We stayed in an en-suit fan room and found they were cool enough without aircon as they were stone huts. The sunbathing terrace and bar area were both fantastic with chilled music playing and excellent food and drink served (slightly more expensive than in the town but worth it). The main strip was just a short walk away but you need a torch in the evening as it is very dark.
The whole area of the cottages is peaceful and quiet and the staff are very friendly offering to arrange transfers to/from the ferry.
I would recommend this place to couples or backpackers for one of the best stays in Koh Chang!

I stayed at Paradise cottage (concrete bungalow with a fan) for 3 nights in December 2012.

CONS:
1) The manager and another staff member were beyond rude. There was absolutely no customer service.
2) Do not leave any of your valuables at the front desk, as I found out that when the manager is away, they simple keep the valuables unlocked under the desk.
3) Try to pay for food and drinks immediately because if you pay at the end you may have other people's bills mixed up with your own.
4) I booked a taxi with them to Bangkok and got bumped out of the van and put on a pickup because the driver wanted to make more money.

PROS:
1) The views are AMAZING and they vibe is quite chill (with all the hammocks).
2) They don't have a swimmable beach but you it is a short walk to the nearest beach and restaurants.
3) The staff members working at the bar were friendly.
4) The room was clean and reasonably priced.
