Pros: Excellent location. Right on the sandy stretch of the lonely beach area. I stayed in a beach side hut for 6 nights. Sitting on my hut's patio- reading, listening to music and enjoying the unreal scenery were the highlights of my stay. Restaurant does BBQ which is quite cheap and okay.

Cons: Management of this place is totally at disarray. At times I felt like the management just do not care at all as they know people like me would stay anyways because of the location. But then again sometimes it felt like they are just disorderly and need some discipline in their operation. The toilets are quite basis which is not the problem. The real problem is they are disgustingly dirty . I asked my towel to be changed after 4 nights of stay and a rude staff told me that WE DO NOT CHANGE TOWELS. However, they were quite keen on receiving payments on time- their overall chilling attitude did not seem to work when it came to get paid!

I only stayed here because I got one of the beach front huts- so if you don't get one of those- check out other options- there are plenty in the lonely beach area.

Room Tip: ONLY THE BEACH FRONT HUTS!! Every Friday night they have a SIAM HUT PARTY- which is awfully loud- so try and avoid staying here on Friday nights.

These bungalows are stumbling distance to Lonely Beach.
They are very basic but when you're on a tropical island you don't really need much else. The food I had in the restaurant was pretty tasty.
No complaints for the price you pay!

If you want something cheap and affordable, something that fits into the backpackers budget, and a beach front bunglow - Siam Hut is the perfect place to stay on the beautiful and chill Lonely Beach of Koh Chiang.
This of course being if you don't mind cold service, holey walls, stiff beds, cockroaches, broken sinks and cold drippy showers. It can be a bit rough, but for the cheap price, the amzing location of being right on the beach front and the small amount of time you'd probably spend in the room anyway, its a good place to stay.
The bungalows are self-catering, as they don't get cleaned during your stay, or come with anything special besides a bathroom and sink (which may or may not be working), fan or air-con, bed and misquito net..the basics! They offer 3 price range of bungalows, A, B and then C, D and E together, but even the farthest bungalow is yet a minute walk to the beautiful beach.
Location wise, couldn't get better! On the beach, yet a short walk into the little town centre with a nice shore front trail.
Siam Hut doubles as also a restaurant/bar, with a kickback deck over the ocean front, decent low priced food, and often hosts late night beach parties (with loud music into the night, if your a light sleeper), as well as fun movie nights on the deck, always playing good new movies with a very large screen. They also rent out kayaks, which is nice to hit some close by islands.

I spent 6 nights at Siam Hut, enjoyed my stay and think overall, these beachfront bungalows are the perfect stay if you don't mind roughing it a bit and putting up with the worst of it, but should be avoided if your picky on that and are looking for something following the general suite of hotels.

My boyfriend and I went to Lonely beach in November 2012 and we stayed at Siam Hut for 5 nights. We loved it. Bungalow was very basic a big double bed, a fan, and a bathroom with cold shower (we can get air con + hot shower + front row for a little bit extra) but clean. We brought a hammock which we hung on the terrasse of the bungalow and that was lovely to be able to read a book while having a sea view. The beach is lovely.
The restaurant was nice, we had lovely food there (try the spicy squid salad) and very nice location. The staff was lovely, especially the older lady that brought the food to the table always wanted to make sure that everything was fine. They also have cinema nights and parties. The only complain I have to make about this place is the lady at the bar where you order you food/coffee in the morning. She was totally unfriendly and quite rude at times to the people staying here.
Well, if I go back to Koh Chang I will defenitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Get a front row bungalow.

The huts are wooden bungalows and very basic. Also water buffalo's could spend a night under your hut. The nearby beach is really good and Siam Hut restaurant is popular due is the first restaurant coming from the lonely beach. The staff was bit rude and typical "farang" attitude was clearly there. No hurry to serve customers not to mention even the fake thai smile. TIT. Food is average thai food. I think this place and it's employees has bit bored of hipsters which want to cheapest place to be and whine about everything (disclaimer: I did not whine).
