If you want a break from Thai food, visit Kharma and order the meatballs.
Think köttbullar at IKEA but a hundred times better!
Cooked to perfection by the Thai-Swedish owners and based upon a family recipe!

(We didn't try the Thai food but if it has the same standard, it must be great!)

I was surprised to read some negative reviews. According to us, there's nothing wrong with the atmosphere, nor with the food. We even had a nice chat with the Swedish co-owner!

The last reviewer is right there isn't any mexican food now :( Fish and chips were decent -> typical and the pizza wasn't as good as other places around... Service was slow and it's right next to the bright 7/11 so atmosphere not so great.

We went there to have a night off Thai food. After reading a previous review we were keen on Mexican. Unfortunately the restaurant has apparently changed hands and although they still have the Mexican on the menu it is no longer available.
The fruity rice and chicken curry we had were OK but serves were very small.
It was hot and all fans were directed on the family and friends that were playing games and socialising at the tables near the bar. Our least favourite place in 14 nights.

Went to Kharma for dinner tonight based upon TA reviews. All food was delicious and fresh ingredients. My partner who is vegetarian was very pleased with his tofu burger and I was chuffed with nachos with the lot. Meat dishes are available also.
We will be going back tomorrow night for dinner!
This business is for sale - unsure why. Go now before it has new owners.

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local friend as one of the better dinning experiences on Koh Chang. It is found on the north end of Kai Bae and easily located (adjacent to a 7-11). The menu is extensive and includes european, mexican, and thai dishes, as well as, pizza. In the mood to try something a bit different, I was intrigued by the Mexican choices. I have to admit that being from the US and spoiled by our Tex-Mex, I am extremely extremely hesitant to try Mexican food, of any sort, outside of the Americas. I need not have worried about Kharma. Our small group played with the Mexican menu and was very happy with our orders. Highly recommended are the nachos... some of the best I have yet to experience. The service and atmosphere of the restaurant are wonderful. Much of the seating area is outdoors under a covered area. Many of the dinners appeared to be repeat visitors... both locals or those on holiday. The chef/proprietor, seemed to take the time to get to know customers, greeting and interacting with many as old friends. Definitely a relaxing spot to take in a nice meal and while away a few hours with some friends or a date. Not to be overlooked!!
