This place was like heaven. Matt and Tara were so friendly and informative. It was really relaxed and friendly, enjoying the beautiful sunsets with a beer from the honesty bar in this wonderful secluded jungle garden right on the sea. They were so helpful and next time I'll be doing the cookery course that everyone said was fabulous, but they could arrange loads of different days out. The bungalows are luxurious and the bathrooms great with loads of hot water. The bungalows each had their own veranda and felt very private. Great location on the island too. Thanks Matt and Tara, I'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: Book front bungalow for best views

We were looking for a chilled, comfortable stay without too many frills. It is just right. Matt and Tara are relaxed, open and welcoming; we started with a beer as he took us through the things to do on the island. They couldn't do enough to help us with setting up day trips and giving us space just to chill out whenever we wanted to.

The bungalows are beautiful, lovely bathrooms and great views. The sound of the waves each night were just what we were looking for; with Saffron, a great thai restaurant, just a few minutes walk along the road.

Its private and out of the way enough, to not come in contact with anyone, whilst only being 5 mins on a scooter into White Sands. The scooters are a must, they are great fun, giving you a chance to explore loads of little hidden gems - beaches, restaurants, waterfalls.

Did I mention the 3 foot eel Janine caught on the boat trip. The Thai guys almost jumped over board in excitement. That was a great trip with Matt.

We know why this is rated consistently number one on TripAdvisor and we will definitely be coming back.

I stayed at PP for two nights after leaving Pattaya. It was the perfect way to wind down before heading to Lonely Beach.

If you're looking for lively party atmospheres don't come here. There is basically nothing but relaxation.

Matt and his family are perfect hosts, thanks for looking after me & have a great time in Australia!!

We found paradise palms by chance ,after a horrible week in white sands ,in a resort we booked on line ( bad service ,smelly ) we stumbled across the place after, driving about on the scooter .We fell in love right away ,,and checked in the next day ,the hosts matt and his lovley wife tara and daughter were so nice .Because of this we managed to save
hoilday ,and had a fantastic week ,chilling out on our deck. I would recomemed this small resort to anyone ,wanting to get away from all the hassle ! The beach is rocky ,but we found no one was trying to sell us anything ,just blue sea ,and great sunsets . There are two great resturants right outside the resort also .

After a month of travel and 2 days in hectic Bangkok, Paradise Palms was the perfect chill out. The resort is situated right on the beach, has only 4 rooms and is perfect for those looking for some R&R
While Matt was away, his lovely wife Tara and daughter Muksukda were the perfect hosts, with plenty of suggestions for sightseeing and dropping us off to the supermarket for supplies when needed. The beach is rocky - I believe this leads to its exclusivity. You won't have to deal with the hordes of other tourists.however the water is beautiful. Navigating the rocks is not that bad, even my wife managed it easily and she loves the comforts of life. Once in, the water is magic and so soothing. When waking in the morning you are faced with the magnificence of the never ending ocean and some picturesque fishing boats on the horizon.
The rooms are lovely with minimal fuss and great amenities. The shops and restaurants nearby are great with cheap prices and good quality goods.
As I said, Tara and Muksada were fabulous hostesses and looked after our every need in such a friendly fashion - we would have no hesitation is recommending Paradise Palms to all our family and friends

I would recommend this place to friends who want to be completely away from crowds and the beach. It had a cottage feel to it and the rooms were comfortable but if you needed anything you had to call the owners as there isn't a front desk or entrance or anything, just stairs to the owners home. Having a scooter to get around was nice but if the weather is rainy it's not fun to be far from your room in a rain storm and so we decided we needed to be closer to a swimming beach. We also found the chill out area and grounds to be a bit disappointing as it was run down and not really usable. (trees in the way of the sun and beach and dug up earth in places.)
Honestly this place would be great for a few groups of friends who don't want to be near crowds and just want to chill on their deck and listen to waves crashing. The owners wife was very kind and wanted to make sure we were happy but after 2 nights we decided we needed to be on the main beach so that we could swim and explore on foot.

Firstley we dont normally write reponse to review ,but i take take the opportunity to say hi ,and thanks to all the lovley guests that have stayed with us over season and all the fantastic reviews that they have written ,once again THANK YOU !!
As only me and my wife run the resort ,with 3 bungalows ,and no staff ( family run ) i was in the uk ,so only my wife was there to run it alone ,and also be a mother to our daughter ! When the guest was here .it is the storm season ,rainy season ,we close our bar area ,and almost impossible to clean up ,as its always raining .we only rent the bungalow at half price as its the low season .but still with free bike . \You can not swim in the sea from may to sept as due to the pounding waves and the massive rip tides ,as you will see on the big signs around koh chang .
So if your looking for the ideal weather come between oct - april ,however saying that the guest was right in saying we are away from all the crowds ,and nice and quite ,with good service !
thanks for staying with us !
keep smiling !
Regards muksuda .

There are two sides to Ko Chang, the West, with resorts like White Sands where glum faced westerners sit looking at each other basting in the Sun, you could be anywhere from the Canary Islands to a busy Greek Resort. - The song remains the same -
However if you venture to the East of the Island and I implore you to do so, you will find a quiet friendly gentle side to the Island which has been lost in the homogenisation of the West Coast.
The GOOD news is that the feeling of East Coast old Ko Chang can be found at Paradise Palms.
Matt Tara and their daughter Muksada are good hosts, being as friendly and informative as you wish without being intrusive.
The small Resort is quiet and peaceful and relaxing and its ambiance seems to make people more relaxed and willing to speak to one another, exchanging greetings and perhaps sharing a moment with a cold drink at the Sunset Bar as the Sun sets into the Sea.

My Advice..............BOOK EARLY
