It was a diversion from many of the temples and stupas on a lovely day. Go if strolling is your thing, and you have discretionary time.

Average is a bit harsh but it depends on why you are visiting.
Some of the garden beds are stunning, the lawns are perfect but the whole package is a bit too un-natural & we found that aspect a bit off-putting.
We were fortunate to see & photograph lorris in the trees & the aviary was interesting.
This would be a great place for a family picnic.

After a hectic schedule and chaotic roads, i found the park aided relaxation. Obviously a popular outing for locals, some parts of the gardens were much busier than others - but its scale made it possible to find your own space. Entrance is $5 pp in Feb 2013 and there's a cafe on site serving simple meals, soft drinks and beer. The exotic birds and riot of colourful flowers added interest - I decided not to venture too close to the monkeys near the elevated walkway beyond the aviary. As mentioned by others it's probably a great place to bring a packed lunch. Finding a car to get the several miles back into town is seemingly much tricker than locating a horse drawn carriage ( carriages seem to congregate near the main vehicle entrance). In my opinion the park is definitely worth a visit for a few hours.

On our visit, the music was blasting, fake garlands and flowers mixed with real ones, and poor workers (who are paid probably $1/day) were digging out and planting new plants to make it appear as if everything was constantly blooming...

Spent about three hours here walking around and really enjoying the Park. We saw black swans, Hamsa ducks, lots of other birds in the aviary, and many lovely flowers and trees. Don't miss a climb up the tower for a scenic view of Pyin U Lwin. Would be lovely for a picnic if you're properly prepared for one. It is very clean and well-tended. Beautiful orchids and an amazing display of butterflies of Myanmar and other countries.
