After having substantially travelled throughout Myanmar I can very much recommend this hotel to stay in and Pyin Oo Lwin as a village to visit. Although it's a little outside of Mandalay its convenient to stay here as it offers a great alternative with its beautiful botanical garden (that alone is program for a day already) and cooler air. The distance from here to the Airport is not much longer than from Mandalay to the airport. Hotel is modern, looks like just recently opened and up to international standards. Staff is friendly, rooms are spacious, food and beverage is good and reasonably priced. Hotel also has a nice pool. Room prices are value for money.

Room Tip: Take the rooms on top of the hill as they offer more privacy and a view overlooking the hotel and fo...

Being a new enterprise, we were cut an extremely good price to stay in this luxurious place as they are quite hungry to build their customer base. The buffet breakfasts were generous and delicious. Onward travel arrangements were reasonable and efficient. The staff were falling all over themselves to be accomodating without being overly obtrusive. The resident manager Aung Zaw Oo was incredible, gracious, professional and experienced. He was very open to feedback in sorting out the inevitable bugs that come with any new venture. There was a problem with a noisy short cycling pump that resonates through the plumbing system( needs an inline large capacity diaphram tank but try explaining that across the language barrier let alone getting one in a sanctioned country). Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Rooms at the top of the hill get a nice breeze and good veiw. There is a great veiw of the observati...

We stayed at this brand new hotel over the christmas period and were thrilled that we did. The hotel has been open for several months, and is clearly bound to be a big success. There is still evidence of improvement in staff training and development ongoing, but on the whole we found that the staff were extremely helpful and were falling over themsleves to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel rooms are semi-detached bungalows, which are really nicely appointed, all done out in teak. They are set around a pleasant outdoor area. Each has a separate spacious bathroom, shower and bath area, dressing room and an outdoor veranda, more like a small house than a room. I think there is only one type of room, which avoids the need to choose a room type - the room we had was really beautiful. In Myanmar terms evreything works well, the TV, water and electric were all reliable with only slight interruptions to the comparatively strong and reliable wi-fi throughout the hotel (I know, Wi-Fi throughout in Myanmar that you can rely on!). When the Wi-Fi did flicker, we asked and it was promptly fixed for us. There is also free internet in the lobby. The lobby area is again very pleasant with comfortable new furniture and pool table (also free), and an open bar area alongside. There is a conference room we didn't use, and both indoor and outdoor dining areas which are very pleasant. The food that we did eat was of a very good quality, although it was made clear to us that the hotel continues to work on a top-class breakfast service, which I'm sure they will have reached soon enough. One night we were too late for the kitchen and the staff went out and got take away for us, and served it to us as if we were dining at the restaurant! The pool is gorgeous, although they were working to fix the pool heating when we stayed (so check that this is complete when booking). The hotel picked up our bags for free from town when we moved from other accommodation, which was a nice touch. The hotel is very close to the gardens, but some way from the town, although there are a number of transport options. Location is therefore either excellent (if your main reason for visiting is the gardens), or average (if you intend to spend a lot of time in the town centre). There are a few other eateries and places to drink on the same road as the hotel, although they are a little way away so take a taxi. For reference, we payed $70USD per night and we think it would be hard to find anything similar on value. The quality of the rooms and the level of service make this place great value.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the complex are more elevated and have a better view out accross the gardens, s...
