We paid US$85 for a twin over the year-end peak period. The hotel is about 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of town. The rooms are quiet bungalows in a large garden – big, modern, well-appointed rooms with quiet air conditioner and heater (you need both here in December), ceiling fan, room safe, Wi-Fi (slow, but this is Burma). The beds are new, but they’ve gone for ultra-firm mattresses, which are too hard for my liking. Good bathroom with excellent shower. Staff are helpful and very pleasant. The breakfast buffet is rather mediocre, but I found this the same everywhere in Burma. Though the hotel will arrange transport for excursions, their rates are not good – they quoted us 25,000 K for a trip to Anisakin Falls and back, but at the taxi rank nearby, we were asked for just 10,000 K.
All in all, a good option.
