This is a very nice hotel , with excellent staff , with great english language skills.
Nicely appointed , clean comfy rooms.
Good breakfast , and facilities.

For me the staff were the highlight , friendly , excellent english , and were always very helpful.

I stayed here two night and had a great time exploring the town. Its a bit a way out for the town centre, walking 30 mins, bike 10 mins. Pitch black at nighttime as no street lights (but this is Burma so if you've done your research you'll have a torch with you!). Staff very helpful and you can easily walk to some of the most interesting colonial buildings. Garden rooms a little tired but perfectly comfortable. Bring warm clothes for the evening!

Eat at: Club Terrace for a treat, Family Restaurant (near the mosque) for the best Burmese food I had in Burma!

Room Tip: if a graden room, see if the ones on the ends of the row are available they got more sunlight!

We stayed for one night in Royal Parkview Hotel. Since the hotel was part of a package deal, I do not know how much we paid per night (though overall and from what I understood, hotel prices in general were absurdly high this Christmas season).
Overall impression: Nice option for some time-out

Good points:
• Free wifi in lobby (not in rooms)
• Spacious room, with sitting area
• Bed with mosquito-net (makes the room so charming)
• Clean (ok, the bathroom would benefit from renovations)
• Safe to walk at night (about 5-10 minutes to a restaurant that is close by) – have torch with you, it’s dark outside
• Complimentary cookies
• Safe in the room
Some negatives:
• No buffet breakfast; served breakfast is a disappointment
• No water heater for tea/coffee in room, but they do serve hot water in a thermos
• It gets cold at night, the A/C has no option for ‘heat’ – so make sure you ask for extra blanket
• Outside the town, not much to do on foot
So, overall: might stay again, if the price is right (no more than 60-80 Euro)

After a rather daunting trip coming from Mandalay, arriving at the Royal Park View Hotel was a treat. It was our first encounter with the famous Birmese hospitality. Hotel staff like Marie-Josepha are really friendly and tried to help out with all our questions (like reserving a hotel room in Mandalay, at that time impossible due to lack of available rooms!). She also suggested trying a burmese breakfast, which indeed proved to be much better than the european breakfast.

We stayed in one of the bungalows on the lawn, and enjoyed every second of it. The rooms were clean, sanitary acceptable (for Birmese standards anyway), and THEY HAVE REAL COFFEE. Not the 3-in-1 crap the Birmese usually love to serve foreigners :).

The hotel is located a little outside of the city center - on the way to the Royal Botanical Gardens. it's doable on foot, but the hotel has some bicycles for rent if you prefer that.

The title says it all. Other than that we were happy with the hotel and staff. The dinner and breakfast in the hotel's restaurant were both good, the staff very friendly. After arrival we were served with hot water (for coffee /tea) in our room and with freshly cut fruit pieces. The hotel is a good walk away from the town centre in a quiet area. WiFi is available but needs changing the settings of the proxy - so a bit knowledge how to do this is necessary. The sights of the town can easily be covered in half a day (with the help of some kind of transport between places).
