We stayed here in November 2011, for 1 night. For a small town, it is good hotel. Good food in the restaurant, it is conveniently close to Parmarth Niketan and Ram ka Jhula. The spa is also excellent, i had a very good ayurvedic massage. Would definitely recommend this place to travellers.

We arrived in Rishikesh on the Ganges River on Day 2 of our journey to India, weary, and a little confused. We fortunately had a reservation at The Great Ganga Hotel and it appeared like a mirage after a long day of travel. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the young, professional, manager Gautam and his colleagues.
Our stay at the Great Ganga was wonderful. The staff were very very helpful and went beyond expectations to make our visit to Rishikesh and India memorable.
I was travelling with 3 other women and we appreciated the location, the cleanliness, the food, the service, the helpful staff, and the cost.
I hope to return to India again and wil definately stay at The Great Ganga Hotel.

We are a small family; just the two of us + a teenage daughter. weekend break; 2 nights at rishikesh. amazing place; far better than haridwar.

The hotel was awesome. I did not expect something like this. The room had every modern amenity that makes it feel like home. Also room sizes were decent. We stayed in room 102; amazing view from the balcony and bang opposite the parmarth ashram. One can attend the evening 'aarti' by standing in the balcony itself!!

The food in the restaurant was excellent; fresh, well made, not spicy, just right.

The staff was great; waiters were gracious & so was the front office staff.

The location of hotel was perfect; the rafting routes end just outside this hotel or thereabouts.

I cant think of anything that was amiss with this property across all aspects. I will recommend this property to EVERYONE.

Room Tip: take on topmost floor, rooms 101, 102 or 103

I stayed in a fair few hotels during a recent trip to India, and I can honestly say that the Great Ganga was by best by a mile. It's clean, comfortable and just a few minutes walk from The Ganga itself. Staff are polite and friendly and the restaurant is a nice quiet place to eat after a hectic day. Definitely recommended; brilliant stay.

This an excellent place to take a break from the hustle and bussle of India. The rooms are immaculate , the service good ( despite a paucity of English by some staff ) and the food all veg , don't even try to get an egg is good and the views of the Ganga are wonderful.
Expect to be awoken at about 4am by the Hindu monks who live next door (chanting) but that seems to matter little

This lovely hotel with spacious rooms. Our room had a balcony with a view of the Ganges. Really awesome especially early in the morning. Within walking distance to the Ram Jhoola. Hotel has a beautiful Spa - the decor is warm and inviting. Lovely restaurant, helpful staff.

I stayed twice in this hotel and can recommend it to anyone requiring spacious room, good food, polite staff and fantastic location near ganges with some rooms having windows overlooking right in to the ganges. Ram jhoola is a short walk and otherwise you can cross the road, turn right and enter a small path leading to footpath with benches right on the ganges shore. You can walk in the evenings and mornings hearing the ganges majestically flowing by.
One of the great asset to the hotel is Mr.Gautam who is at the reservation and who takes enormous pains to meet all your needs 24x7.
DO STAY the price is a steal. Remember to ask for soft pillows.

Room Tip: Ask for ganges facing rooms
