“Hardly any view, but excellent service and an amazing restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

Was there from 29-31 Mar 2013.

The Hotel is on the other side of the Ganges from the town, so one needs to cross the barrage (before 7pm) and drive through a beautiful road between the Rajaji National Park to reach the Hotel. It's also approachable from Ram Jhula, but one needs to park on the other side and walk around 1.5 kms. Parking is a pain. If you drive to the hotel, the only parking available is an empty plot 2 plot away from the hotel. Else you've got to park in a public parking lot with no assurance that you'll find your vehicle as you left it.

It's nothing much from the outside, but once cross the doorstep it's like stepping into a different world altogether.

First off, the rooms do not have any view - the lower priced ones have NO view, and the ones with the balcony just about over look the ashram next door. Avoid this if one of your must dos on a vacation is sitting in the balcony with a cuppa and watching the view.

The hotel is amazingly neat & clean. in this respect, it's one of the best budget hotels I've stayed in a long long time.

The management is nice and very helpful - they let us stay on for another half a day without any charges. The service is amazingly prompt and polite.

But their highlight is definitely the restaurant. It's a pure vegetarian affair, and the food is out of this world. They have an amazing spread of Indian and Italian cuisine and their pastas and cannelloni simply excellent. Do try the Sauteed Mushrooms in Cheese and the Spinach Cannelloni in white sauce. In fact, as far as this place goes, just go ahead and order anything from the menu and be prepared to be amazed.
The restaurant manager (Bhangwan Dass if I remember correctly) is super polite and an amazing person to chat with. He ensures that the food is served fast, well cooked and hot. and he can recommend the good stuff on the menu. A big change from restaurants where you ask what's their specialty and all you get is a blank look or a fumbling answer.

Have heard that their spa's excellent too, but didn't have the opportunity to try it out.

Stay here if you're not fussy about whether you have a view or not and want to indulge in some exceptional food.

Room Tip: Choose any room - None of them have any view!

Nirvana Palace was a pleasure! It felt like a home away from home with friendliness and cosiness. A beautiful, clean hotel with excellent food. A highly recommended hotel in Rishikesh. I enjoyed the excellent food, the helpful staff and beautiful rooms. A great spa and excellent yoga classes in house!

We were at rishikesh around holi and the hotel was a last minute booking at 4 a.m. in the morning. As luck turned out it was one of the best decisions in our trip. We chose the suite, as it was the biggest with a balcony. The room was very clean with a roomy bathroom and clean fittings.
The hotel really takes the cake in its service. The staff is very helpful. Our queries on bike rentals, places to visit, room service, service in the restaurant were all above par. I would especially like to mention that they went out of their way to get us dropped to the bus stand for our bus back to Delhi.
The restaurant is pretty decent and breakfast starts quite early. The cook seems to have a wide enough range, though they do shut shop at 10 at night so if u re not looking for late night meals it should work for you.
On our last evening we were at the spa and it was good enough for me(im a girl), my boyfriend was less than satisfied. Well do weigh out that option if you are a guy.

All in all an amazing experience I cant wait to repeat!

I stayed one month at Nirvana this Feb. and I had a great time. The hotel is spotless.
The showers are hot and great water pressure.
The dinning is excellent.
This is a great location to the Ashrams and to Rishikesh Market areas. This location is also close to the taxi stand and at the base of the mountain if you want an awesome walk.
You wont find a nicer group of people to come home to.

Room Tip: The deluxe rooms are roomier and the showers more modern. The food is safe and good

I recently made a trip to Rishikesh to attend a yoga workshop at an Ashram .We(me and my 78 year old mother...a real trooper!!) were supposed to stay at the Ashram but they had overbooked and so, booked a room for us at Hotel Nirvana Palace.. It was a 2 minute walk from the Ashram . At first we were annoyed because we wanted to be right on the property, but once the temperature dropped and the 3 days of pouring rain came , we were delighted to be in a warm dry bed with a clean bathroom and shower and fresh towels and sheets!!.
They even brought an extra heater into the room for my mother. The staff were friendly and VERY accommodating. There is a small restaurant in the hotel and the food is average and reasonably priced. As was theChai Tea, they brought to our room!
It was a lovely experience and very good value.

Room Tip: the rooms are a bit tight by north american standards but the beds are large and comfortable, but I...

Pros:

1. It's a newly constructed property
2. Premium rooms have a good size, and bathrooms with bath cubicles was decent and clean. Bath-fittings are of good quality.
3. Bed linen was neat and clean
4. Hill view from their restaurant on the terrace was nice even though the restaurant gave the feeling of an aluminium Green House (one which has plants :))
5. Nice view to hill and Parmath Niketan garden view Premium Rooms balcony
6. Had a small elevator
7. Has Wifi connectivity in the rooms and restaurant though it didn't work most of the time while we were there
8. Lightening in the Premium Rooms was good

Cons:

1. Location was not very impressive, situated between two dingy, narrow lanes. It's house converted into a tall hotel. If coming from the side of Rajaji National Park, which should be the case most often, the approach is not very good and one has to go right through a massive dump of trash few minutes right before the hotel
2. Hotel does not have its own car parking space, they got our car parked in an empty plot next door
3. The room facilities listed on their website like coffee-tea maker, bathrobes, refrigerator, were not there. Suggest get a confirmation on these aspects on email before getting a surprise.
4. Though there are some raving reviews about the front desk manager, Sachin, on other TripAdvisor posts which I found unusual (wonder who is posting them!), we did not have a good experience in dealing with him.
5. Food was average
6. Our room rent included Fixed breakfast where three items were listed separated with commas with '/' in some places but the restaurant staff insisted that the commas mean 'or' and not 'and' :), and therefore wanted to serve lesser items than what the menu said.
7. Though we didn't stay in the 'Deluxe Rooms' but saw and found them to be small in size with a queen bed
8. Rates need to be negotiated carefully. Depending upon the season one should try and negotiate for Rs 800-1200 for Deluxe Rooms and Rs 1500-2000 for the Premium Rooms with breakfast, Wi-fi.

Tips: go in for Premium Rooms on 3rd and 4th levels, unless you are looking at budget accommodations.

Get clarity on email on the room facilities and inclusions before landing there to avoid surprises

If you scared of monkeys keep the balcony doors shut :)

dear sir
first of all i would like to thank you for the words of appreciation for our hotel. now i would like to answer about the cons of your review.
1-as far as the location is concerned, every location have some pros and cons . although it is not very easily accesible but our hotel is at a walking distance from the world famous ganga arti at parmarth niketan. it has the beautiful view of vanprasth ashram's garden from our premium rooms. it is not far from world famous ram jhula. also it is far from the hustle and bustle of the city and from the busy traffic of the cars.
2- the parking space next to the hotel which we provide you is also our property. other hotels in that area do not have even this facility.
3- as i mentioned in other responsealso that since our hotel is new so we could not complete all the features . but we have learnt a lesson from this and now you will not find anything on our website which we can not serve you.
4- as far as our manager sachin is concerned , i would like to tell you that all the good reviews about him on trip advisor are wrote by the guests from all the parts of the world. the reviews are absloutely honest. and he did not misbehave with you at any level. he deal with you very patiently. but you and your brother-in-law who wrote another review , got made at him unnecessarily and made the situation worse.but he did not answer you and listen calmly.
5- breakfast issue was unnecessarily created by you and your brother-in-law.
6- the size of the delux rooms are medium and we are replacing queen bed with twin bed .
7- as far as the negotiation of the price is concerned, this is absloutely wrong that we can provide rooms on the price which you mention. i do not know from where you got that impression but you do not have any right to post the wrong fact and harm the reputation of our hotel. yes we provide group discount for the group of many people and this is very common in hotel industry but even that discount is not so much as you mentioned there.

Only for low bdget travelers. The place is average but if you really want peace and comfort, stay in a resort in Rishikesh. The hotel is located in dingy lanes which are as dirty as they can be. Room service is ok. Food is average. Would never stay again the place.
