The most important part of our trip to Morocco this summer, was our 2 day visit to La Sultana. From all our travels throughout the world and staying at luxury resorts, this little gem by the sea — is one of our favourite places to visit. This is due to a combination of it’s location in Oualidia, as well as the team that is run by Monsieur Guerraoui. They make you feel like royalty the moment that you arrive at the parking, with the welcome you get at reception and the lovely little treats to eat and drink after the drive to the hotel.
The whole of the hotel is so well set up with the views of the lagoon and the Atlantic ocean. Also naturally the activities on offer make great use of this amazing setting. However here I think that they could offer the kayaking not necessarily on an hourly rate— but free for few hours to guests. The rooms although simple in their style are well appointed and the lovely Moroccan pastries and fruit basket help fend off any hunger pangs. Which is hard to imagine after feasting at the breakfast spread— which includes Western and Moroccan delights. They have your new journal ready for you every morning, which are the news highlights from the country to travelled from or live at — nice touch! As well as binoculars available to investigate the varieties of bird life that lives around the lagoon.
Other touches which will bring us back to this hotel are the amazing spa and the way it cocoons you in the facility. The welcome ice cream in the afternoon sun by the pool, from all the hectic lounging by the pool! As well as the free massage treatments, which my daughter has as her top tip. The meals at the restaurant are fabulous and the team that delivers at the restaurant, whether at breakfast or other meals are meticulous in their service and care. If you are brave enough to choose your lobster from the hidden tanks, where all the seafood is fresh, you can enjoy an amazing beach BBQ under the stars. Surprisingly for July it was not as warm at night as expected, so the team where out with blankets to ensure no one was chilled and it was just the great wine selection.
The team from house keeping to front desk to Monsieur Guerraoui are constantly there to ensure this is your dream holiday. If it was possible they could maybe consider having some activities aimed at the younger clients, so they can be dragged away from their screens on occasion! All in all it has become our family’s must do when we arrive in Morocco— although there are other places we will need to see in Morocco La Sultana has captured our hearts . Our family would like the whole team at La Sultana know that they are all prime examples of how the service should be given in the hospitality industry. More importantly they make us feel like family in their family, for that we are always looking forward to our next trip back to the gem by the lagoon — La Sultana !

We came for our mini-moon after getting married and loved La Sultana. Truly underrated area of Morocco, and a stunning place to enjoy it. The sunsets over the lagoon, which you can watch while sipping wine and enjoying complimentary tapas on the pontoon, are beautiful. The infinity pool is also in a perfect spot for it. La Sultana really outdid themselves in terms of service - everyone was friendly and attentive, and it felt like they were really trying to make sure that all our needs were cared for. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back.

27/06/2019 was my second visit to La Sultana Oualidia and the place is quickly becoming my favorite thing about Morocco. General Manager, Khalil Guerraoui has taken care of me both times and made sure that absolutely everything was 100% and nothing was left to chance. Rooms, immaculate. Service, professional and exemplary. But the food... even if the rest of the experience wasn't grand, I'd still come back for the seafood. Was as described on the menu or my whimsy catered to in every way. There is a simple elegance to this place that makes it nothing short of perfect. Recommend it for honeymooners, families, et cetera. All seem welcome and it easily works for any combination of humans that like each other. Highly, highly recommended and it gets a 10 out of 10 from me. Thanks, Khalil - hope to see you again very soon.

Room tip: Tree House is amazing. 128, equally amazing with more space and very quiet.

What a gorgeous hotel. Our bedroom was amazing and the communal areas are stunning. The food was delicious, although expensive by Moroccan prices. There is also plenty to do in the area with surfing, horse riding, fatbiking and much more on offer.
