Stayed here for just over a week, and had a great time. The hotel itself is quite small, only fifty rooms, and the friendly and accomodating staff go out of their way to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The food & drinks here are good, there are two resturants within the hotel, and a third at the nearby golf course. This hotel occupies the northern end of Tamarin Bay, so it is possible to walk around the beach and to where Tamarin village starts, with some surfing possible just off the coast. The spa is great with some experienced masseurs. Would return if considering another stay in Mauritius.

I stayed in this hotel for a week and had a very good stay. The breakfast as well as dinner is a real treat. The rooms are spacious, the swimming pools are relaxing and the beach is right around the corner! But the biggest compliment of all is for the excellent service and the most friendly and helpful staff.

Also Mauritius is a beautiful island. I rented a car and drove around for a few days. Visit the botanic gardens, they are beautiful! Also the smaller market in Quatre Bonnes is more special than the one in Port Louis as it is less touristic.

Tip: Taxis and shuttles are very expensive, you better rent a car for a couple of days which is much cheaper than taking a taxi now and then.

Thanks dearest Denis and all the personnel that made my stay a memorable one.

Room Tip: Rooms at the beach side are less private choose one in the back..I had room 314 with a nice view on the swimming pool and very quiet.

When travelling for leisure you don't want to be in one one of these hudge, 300 + rooms resorts don't you ? In that case the Tamirana is made for you : a very quiet place, wonderfull settings and surroundings, excellent service, excellent food ! all of this in Mauritius Island West Coast, where the winter (there) is still a nice spring weather for Europeans (with, however the real need for a sweater and a wind stopper for the open air restaurant at night, sometimes !). The rooms are large enough, in warm tones, not too much sophisticated, the balcony is very pleasant (block 5 opens on trees and the beach,, when I say "block" it is because I cannot name the 2 to 3 stories of rooms, gathered in 3 to 4 stacks..., alltogether there are only 50 rooms in the hotel ! All rooms have a view towards the beach or the pools and garden, none has a "vis à vis" ...
If you want to go to the golf, do not hesitate, it is a wonderful design, easily done by foot if you want (we want to...), we had 7 rounds in 10 days, wonderfull !
The SPA is, however not a SPA (Sanitas Per Aqua) since there is no jacuzzy, water treatments and the like, but the massages are just great ! staff is friendly and knows very well their job, fom facial tratments to relaxation or sports massages...
The beach, well, is a real beach with real sand, waves, and this is great ! Of course you have to consider that there is open sea and that it is better to know how to swim... no sharks here, but some surf riders, fishermen, and the great advices of Desiré (alias Bongo) at the beach bar...
Speaking of bar... all inclusive includes a very widerange of cocktails, rhums and a decent however very short choice of good italian wine. And the food is excellent, during our stay we had diners served at the table with 3 choices of ntrée, main dish and dessert, allways with at least one fish specialty, and changed everyday (we stayed 10 days)... Great cooking with spices that have flavour but are not too hot !
Very good breakfast also...

Room Tip: Ask for the upper ones, near to the beach...

From the front desk you get the feeling that you have just entered paradise, however, that soon ends when you start making your way to the rooms. Th erooms are okay, but did not undestand why the closet is in the bathroom area. Service was great. We had lots of ants in the room. WIFI is only available at the lobby and in the bar, such an inconvenience. Also, we requested to extend checkout for 2 hours and were told we have to pay $65. Taxis are quite expensive and the hotel grounds are vast, would be advisable to have a car. Food is quite costly, that is common in most hotels in Mauritius. Not too bad but would not go back.

I stayed in May 2013 and was lucky enough to experience some lovely weather. I also got to experience a beautiful sunset. The resort is very intimate having only 50 rooms on offer. Its a very nature conscious resort, trying to keep everything natural and intimate. They have a golf course on their doorstep which is great for golfers. The nice thing about this resort is the fact that they offer one free massage for golfers and non golfers get to experience one free massage "per day". Rooms are very basic but spacious and bathrooms are equipped with showers and not bathtubs (this is to prevent water wastage given the fact that Mauritius actually has a lack of it). There are 2 restaurants available with some live entertainment in the evenings.

Being a very intimate resort, I think honeymooners would enjoy the ambiance. The downfall here is that it is categorized as a four star, but it is very basic and being so nature conscious you will find little lizards in and around the room and even some ants crawling all over your fruit basket. If you are terrified of insects - then not your place to be!

I found it to be 3 star quality with a very warm ambiance. If you take a walk along the beach you would be able to walk right up to the nearby villages. The school of dolphins lives right by the beach in front of the resort so - this is definitely adds to the value of the resort.

Room Tip: All the rooms are exactly the same, the only difference is the fact that there is ground floor, second floor and third floor. Ground floor gives you direct access to the garden. The nice thing is that your balconies are private.
