Description: Wild Wolf Brewing Company, established November 11, 2011, is one of just a few mother/son operations in the country. Danny, a classically trained Brewmaster by the Siebel Institute in Chicago, and his mom, a business savvy entrepreneur, have turned a family passion for craft beer into one of the fastest growing breweries in Virginia. The brewery and restaurant is situated in the heart of the Brew Ridge Trail and features a wide selection of hand-crafted beers as well as the freshest local foods in Central Virginia-all in a century old, revitalized Nelson County school house. The ten acre property features an authentic Biergarten, shaded by a protective canopy of 60-year-old Siberian Elms, including a charming gazebo, large Koi pond, and working water wheel. In addition, an outdoor pavilion has been enclosed to allow for a four season dining experience. The pavilion hosts live music every weekend year round. Inside the restaurant, guests are treated to a rustic dining experience, including wrap-around porches that provide stunning views of the surrounding mountains and property. Toward the back of the old schoolhouse guests enter the new building which houses a lively sports bar as well as our brewing facility.

Nice place to sit and enjoy the fresh air, nice selection of mirco brews and decent food, kids love the play area and the room to run and play

Not sure about the earlier negative reviews, but we loved the beer, got a tour of the brewing operation, and enjoyed the food and employees. We'll stop in again happily!

Stopped in after dinner at another local restaurant to try the beer. After having been here previously when they first opened I was expecting a short list of typical styles, but was surprised to see a large selection of "seasonal" (rotating) beers. Very impressed with the Ginger Lager and Wit Wolf IPA. Was also happy to see a firkin with an interesting double saison w/ ghost chilies. Bartender was very knowledgable about the beers (above and beyond what is written out in the menu), can't say as much for some of the other brewery bars I've been to. Can't wait until (eventually) they start bottling.

We are barbeque lovers! On our way home from picking apples at Dickie brothers I remembered I had read about Wild Wolf - so we stopped by to have lunch. I chose the bar-be-que sandwich north carolina style- vinegar based sauce on the side and my husband got the other barbeque with the tomato based already on the meat. Both were Delish! Beautiful restaurant - clean and very well laid out. We ate on the enclosed wrap-a-round porch with views of the mountains and a nice waterfall with koi pond on the property. Left thru the side exit and passed the smoker/cooker etc. where the meat was cooking! Took a tour of the nice shops and saw where the also have a bar with covered area - great for the warmerm days. Also lots of tables outside - a biergarten - very cool. We will be back!
