We met friends here for dinner. The waitress at first was not very cheery, but warmed up after a bit. This is a nice place that has been around for awhile. They offer many seafood dishes as well as steaks and some pasta dishes. I had the She Crab Soup, which was rich and creamy, with an adequate amount of crab, but there never seems to be enough crab no matter where I eat! The house salad was abundant with a quarter of a large tomato that was actually ripe and tasty. I ordered the Seafood Au Gratin, which came with the salad and a choice of veggie. The Seafood Gratin had scallops, shrimp and a few pieces of crab in a sherry cream sauce topped with cheese. It was tasty and quite hot when it arrived. They make 3 different pickled items that are placed on the table as munchies while you wait. All are very good. They also make their own breads, most of which are sweet breads. We sampled all 4. Unfortunately the breads were served cold, so the butter did not melt. We didn't have room for dessert. I had the house Merlot which was a generous pour and quite good (we did wait awhile for the wine to be delivered). There was a strange smell upon entering the restaurant, which reminded me of a smell I smelled in the bathroom of a Mexican restaurant a few years ago, but I did not notice it at the table. When we left, someone in the kitchen had obviously spilled hot oil on a burner as there was a smell of that upon leaving. This is a nice restaurant, great for special occasions or celebrations. They are welcoming and the food is good.
