Wonderful friendly staff. Great restaurant. We stayed in the Bull Barn. Had everything you want for a once in a lifetime vacation. Fireplace with dry logs. Ice bucket full of cubes. Steam bath. Large bathtub with jets. Rain shower head in shower. Radio on to a music station. Plenty of bottled water. I could go on and on. It was perfect.

Dear Prentiss W,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent stay at Goodstone Inn & Restaurant. The staff works hard to ensure that each stay is memorable. Goodstone is located in a remarkable setting, close to the hub of Washington D.C. but just a short drive away is the relaxing and scenic tranquility of northern Virginia's horse country. What a treat to stay in our rustic and elegant Bull Barn Cottage, a guest and staff favorite.

Again, thank you for your comments and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Best,
Emily Miller

We arrived Friday night for a weekend Romantic Getaway and were stunned by the beauty and simplicity of this Inn. We stayed in their Hayloft room located above the repection area and bar. Super quiet, centrally located and CHARMING! Recently rennovated, the room was bright, comfortable with a fantastic personal porch. Beautiful plants, comfortable couch and an umbrella/table and chairs. Take time to enjoy a night time star gazing. The staff here is great. We loved Megan the bartender. She is prompt, kind, sincere with wonderful stories. We enjoyed massages, hanging out at the pool and a hike across their estate. The place is beautiful. We loved hearing the barking of the hunting dogs from the nearby hunt. This is a charming place and we look forward to returning with friends. There are so many different places to stay. I will review the restaurant separately but the breakfast, included in your room price, was awesome.

Room Tip: We loved the Hayloft room.

Dear mikelynxx,

Thank you for choosing Goodstone Inn & Restaurant. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your visit...even the hounds! The Hayloft is a guest favorite and mine too! You can't beat the private deck under the stars. The pool has always been the perfect place to unwind. Breakfast is a highlight and I will be sure to pass your kind words onto the culinary team. Megan is a new member of the Goodstone team but you would not know it. She fits right in and I am looking forward to hearing her stories!

We look forward to welcoming you back to Goodstone with your friends and, again, thank you for choosing Goodstone Inn & Restaurant.

Best,

The warmth of the staff and the beauty of the setting alone make this venue worthy of return after return visits. Culinary quality and presentation finesse make every visit a unique experience. Grounds are well kept and welcoming. Guests are made to feel like family. A must visit.

Room Tip: The Bull Barn adjoins fenced in sheep, goats, a lama and chickens. Dutch Cottage has a full kitchen.

We had an AMAZING stay in the Manor House!!! My husband and I had stayed at the Goodstone Inn several years back for an overnight stay in the Spring House. We agreed that one night was not enough and that if we ever came back we'd definitely stay 2 nights. Well I was so excited to see an email from the Goodstone about a special rate of 1/2 the room cost if you booked 2 nights and dinner for one night! With our 18th anniversary right around the corner we booked it! We were very pleasantly surprised the day we were to arrive by a call from reception saying we had been upgraded to a different room. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Alexis.. She invited us to follow her in her vehicle while we drove ours and we followed her to the spectacular Manor House. The house and setting was so grand in the middle of hunt country with rolling fields outline by stone and wooden fences and spotted with horses and cattle. We entered the home to a spectacular foyer with an amazing view through the floor to ceiling windows of the fields in the distance. We were informed that we had the house to ourselves for our stay! Alexis gave us a tour of the house and our suite. Our 2 night stay was wonderful! The bed was so comfortable. The room was spacious and the bath was luxurious. I didn't want to leave! We did end up touring nearby Middleburg and some wineries. We truly enjoyed our breakfast each morning. I had eggs Benedict which was the best I've had. My husband had eggs and bacon one morning and a delicious steak, carmalized onion, and Swiss cheese omelette on day 2.
Our one evening of dinner was delicious as well. I must mention however, that we frequent some very fine dining restaurants around our home and wherever we travel, and we found that the restaurant was quite over priced. The wine list doesn't allow for a decent bottle of Chardonnay for under $60, with most being well above that. My small salad appetizer cost $16. My entree was $40+ and had 4 scallops! It was delicious but for that price I thought I'd get maybe 5 scallops??? That was our only complaint! We truly loved our lodgeing and the staff was so polite and accommodating! We definitely plan to return!

Dear jenniferhomes4u,

Thank you for taking the time and providing your feedback. The entire staff is pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the Goodstone Inn Manor House. The views from the private balcony of the Stuart Suite looking over the rolling pastures of the Goodstone property with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background are truly special. I hope you were able to enjoy your favorite beverage under the stars!

Our food and beverage team appreciates your input regarding the menu and takes all feedback seriously. As we transition into our new kitchen and the Conservatory Dining Room, we hope that you come back in the near future for an even longer visit and enjoy dinner under the stars!

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during a trip to Middleburg last month. This is an incredibly lovely Inn. The property is great and we took some nice walks around the extensive grounds. Unfortunately the restaurant was under construction while we were there. The breakfast was average and I would hope that the quality improves once the kitchen and restaurant re-opens. The staff were great and were very happy to help answer our questions about the property and the farm.
