We were never people who returned year after year to any venue, no matter how good, until we found Seatoller House in the early '80s. Its charm and unique format just hooked us; what's more, it hooked our then young children who immediately rated it a venue of choice when asked for their holiday suggestions - and who have continued to visit by themselves. Over the years the House has never lost its charm. We have been privileged to watch the House develop through 4 management teams, each one adding their own innovations and improvements whilst respecting what the nature of the House and the guests who visit. Whether just holidaying or holding special family parties there, the welcome has always been warm from house staff and guests alike. Tricia and Nigel continue the best traditions of the house whilst bringing their own calm and welcoming atmosphere. If you want to hide in a corner and choose your own menu, Seatoller House is possibly not for you. If you like conversing and meeting interesting people from diverse occupations around a communal dining table: if you like staying in an old house full of character: if you like one of the Lakes quieter and more picturesque areas - then Seatoller House is most likely a place you will enjoy, or even become addicted to. Tricia is a worthy custodian of the Seatoller House reputation for good food. Her fixed menu (adaptable for guests with dietary requirements) saves the mental energy of choosing which is best diverted to selecting a glass/ bottle from Nigel's interesting wine list. The guestbook in the lounge provides testament to the continued enjoyment of visitors...... and in some cases their canine companions.
