I stayed for two nights during a flying visit to Walk and Mountain Bike. Fantastic picturesque location with heaps of tradition makes this hotel a must if you are staying in the area. The Hotel has its own drying room and lock up for bikes which is ideal. WIFI throughout the hotel is beneficial to keep in touch with the world as much, or as little, as you want. I stayed in Osprey, the room is very spacious and has been recently redecorated to a high standard. The warm welcome from Nigel with his ‘can’t do enough for you’ attitude, the three fantastic meals a day cooked by Trish and the honesty system for drinks just add to the overall ambience of the hotel. Looking forward to my return stay in September! Can’t recommend it enough.

I didn't have any expectations when I arrived at seatoller house but if I had then it would be fair to say they would have been exceeded! I booked myself 3 nights dinner bed and breakfast but ended up staying for 5.

First of all the location is fantastic for fell walkers like myself. Easy access to various walks from the front door, and the bus stop is just over the road if you fancy going anywhere for the day.

The rooms are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and offer great views of the surrounding area. All of the rooms have a bathroom, whether it's en-suite , or just down the hall as mine was (I stayed in 'owl').

The food was outstanding. Seatoller house operates a 'communal' dinner which i really enjoyed. it gives you the chance to get to know other guests and, as i found, learn about the area and walks i wouldn't have known about otherwise. There was fresh homemade bread (still warm) on the table every evening along with an excellent wine menu. I enjoyed a 3 coarse meal, followed by a local cheeseboard and then coffee and chocolates in the lounge area.

The lounge and bar provided an ideal retreat after a hard days walking. Every night i would help myself to a drink and relax in front of the fire with the other guests, exchanging stories from the day.

Nigel and Trisha (the managers/chef) along with the other staff provide excellent service, are friendly and will cater to most, if not all of your needs.

All together seatoller house ticks all the boxes and I will definitely be returning, hopefully sooner rather than later.

A memorable stay at a spacious and very welcoming guest house set in a very picturesque location. Nigel and Trish are lovely and the rooms - we stayed in The Osprey - are massive. A home-cooked English breakfast was great and the honesty bar was well-supplied and well-used. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a country getaway and will definitely return.

Fabulous weekend in guest house that's immaculate, well presented and great company by the owners.

Once the sun shines on Borrowdale it's such a beautiful and an amazing place. Just far enough from Keswick to be so peaceful and tranquil but close enough to enjoy Keswick in its glory.

Brilliant weekend and well priced.

Thankyou Peter and Stuart.

After many years of hearing about Seatoller House from friends who visit regularly, we finally managed to arrange a stay ourselves at this warm hospitable hotel. Nigel was quietly attentive and helpful. We didn't have the opportunity to meet Trish but the food she provided was wholesome and plentiful and communal dining was a pleasure. Our room was quiet and comfortable and overlooked the attractive, secluded garden. We were delighted to see a red squirrel from the dining room window. This is a great place to stay in an outstanding area and we look forward to visiting again.

We stayed for just one night on our Coast to Coast route.
Very good location for the walk and a really lovely ambience in the hotel. Loved the 'trust' ethos of helping yourself to drinks and the bedrooms not being locked. We stayed with our dog(who was made welcome) in Osprey. The room had been very tastefully redecorated, and was huge.
A lovely sociable experience. Fabulous evening meal.

A very good base for walking in Borrowdale as the hotel are very walker friendly with facilities fro drying wet clothes and boots. Food and service were very good. Staff were extremely helpful. Rooms were comfortable although the beds were a little soft for my liking. Great views from some of the hotel bedrooms.
