What an amazingly charming place! Eclectically stylish with cool vintage architecture. Like home away from home... and with all the comforts to boot. Lovely lobby. Super pleasant, and accommodating, employees. I return often and always enjoy my stay. Nothing in Lynchburg compares... highly recommend.

Just returned home from a stay at this property. I was so impressed with everything. The front staff was nice and very accomodating. My sister and I both had beautiful rooms that were nicely appointed. The rooms are large and have a flat screen TV, mini bar with free H2o. The bath room is spacious and has a seperate bath tub and shower. The Architect and interior designers who put this together should be commended for retaining the beauty of the old shoe factory with the brick walls and high ceilings and windows and blending it with an eclectic modern style. They served a cold buffet in the morning right in the lobby and it was very nice to sit and enjoy the Architecture of the lobby. They also had this amazing coffee machine that brewed fresh Starbucks coffee for free. We also ate downstairs at the restaurants on premise and had a great meal at both places. One place is a bit more fancy and $$$ and the other more casual and less $$. I would highly recomment this place for a romantic get away.

I stayed at the Craddock from 10/13-10/17 on business. My room was very clean and well appointed. I was in room 509, premium king. Yes it was near the train tracks, but the hotel beside the train tracks. A white noise machine is available by request at the front desk for those that cannot tolerate the train noise. I learned to live with it through the week. The bed was so comfy. Very soft sheets and pillows.

I ate at both restaurants onsite during the week. Waterstone has great casual food. The pizza is wonderful. Shoemakers was excellent also, but pricey.

Hopefully, Lynchburg will add more dining and entertainment options downs so that this can be a hotel to visit for a nice weekend.

I was so excited about staying here on my wedding night on October 4, 2008. My husband and I had gone in February to look at the hotel. They let us see one of the King Suites which we fell in love with so we went ahead and booked it. When we arrived at the hotel on our wedding night, they gave us our key and sent us up to our room. When we got to the room, it was not a suite. When we called down to the front desk, the lady then told us that they had given our suite to someone else. She didn't bother telling us when we came in and no one called us. We left angry on our wedding night to find another hotel. To make matters worse, my Matron of Honor had ordered food from their restaurant to be delivered to our room and tipped them $20! We spoke with the manager the next day. The reason they gave our room away was that they had promised another couple a suite. They were short on suites so they had to give ours away.
