Very nice woman took reservations. Would not call this a spa whatsoever. Rooms and open areas to watch TV and read but not really a lodge or a spa. A bit strangely laid-out. Additions added on in various ways. Clean. Did not see many people at the place when we were there which was bizarre because it was supposed to be fully booked. Tried to find the "gym facilities" but they were just a bunch of old machines in the basement next to several games like ping pong and pool table. Seems like things were purchased and just stored. Overall, it is a great place to sleep if you are doing business in the area. Would not consider it a location to relax or spend your down-time, as it is a bit creepy. Husband and I there for business. Probably would not go back. Cannot get over some of these other reviews. We just did not get what everyone was raving about.

Dear Elley H: Thank you for your Trip Advisor comments. We highly value our office staff and thank you for the reinforcement. We are taking your comments under advisement regarding "visibility" of the spa and salon in the adjacent building and our fitness and game room areas in the main lodge which was impacted during our construction project. Regarding pictures, those are all photos from the actual property; as I am unsure if you were in the main lodge or the cottage or apartment, I cannot comment further on that part of your experience. Lastly, you are correct that we can be fully booked, but you may not see other guests. This was intentional in our design.

Thank you for commenting as there is always something to learn from another person's perspective. If you find yourself in the area again, please stop by and see our progress.

Just got home from a visit to Lynchburg, VA where we stayed at the Acorn Hill Lodge and Spa. We were simply enchanted with this lovely bed and breakfast nestled in a country setting just on the outskirts of town. From the beautiful entry complete with a majestic curving staircase to the comfortably appointed rooms to the charming vine-covered outdoor patio, this place was just such a breath of fresh air for our family. After staying for a week in various standard hotels from New York to Virginia, we found Acorn Hill Lodge to be such a special treat. The property is just stunning with lovely landscaping and a beautiful pond out front which looks spectacular with a beautifully lit fountain at night. Nearby, a lovely bronze statue of children frolicking, is hidden among the greenery. The breakfast each morning was delicious (cooked to order) and the staff was very friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment over the salon and spa which included a full kitchen and living room and it was reasonably priced -- providing just what we needed for a large traveling party of six. There was evidence around the back of the property of the recent construction project, but that was not a problem for us nor did it diminish our experience. We will definitely make Acorn Hill our home away from home while visiting Virginia in the future and would highly recommend it to any other weary travelers looking for an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of city life in the greater Lynchburg area.

We stayed 5 nights here over the fourth of July and while there is construction and such going on both inside and out, there is nothing left to be desired. We had a wonderful room very clean and roomy enough for our family of three. The owners and all of the staff were wonderful and so pleasant. Breakfast was good and cook to order was a nice change of pace from standard hotel fair. It was nice to have our own space and not hear yelling and screaming like at hotels. It is a little off the beaten path but 10-15 min from Liberty University and literally right up the street from tons of shopping and restaurants. We will definitely be staying here when we return again soon! You must stay at Acorn Hill Lodge!

Room Tip: We had a king suite and they provided a twin size bed for our toddler.

Thank you, Carli, for the kind words. The construction is nearing an end (I hope!) and it seems the last 10% of the project takes almost as long as the first 90%. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to provide more services. We look forward to your return visit.

Acorn Hill Lodge is a convenient place to stay when coming to Lynchburg for events located on the other side of town from Liberty University and the strip mall lodging chains. We had a child at Randolph and stayed there numerous times due to its location and amenities. It is very close to Lynchburg College as well. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the the facilities are well maintained. While our child has now graduated and moved on, we wouldn't hesitate to reserve a place at Acorn Hill if we should ever find ourselves in Lynchburg again.

Room Tip: They are renovating. Ask if the work is finished, if not, get a room in the cottage, on the other s...

It's just a great place to stay. If you are wanting to feel at home and relaxed, give it a try. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff become like family. Robert and Wanda are sweethearts. If you are expecting breakfast with a waiter with a towel over his arm, best go somewhere else. But if you want down home country charm, you'll love Robert in his white shirt, khaki shorts and boat shoes ready to fix you whatever you want and then some...and it's all delicious. Like your bacon extra crispy? They can do it! Wanda took us on a tour of the new facilites (even though she was busy) and it is going to be awesome. I love her slow southern accent and her attention to details. The main building is beautiful with an elegant charm. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Room Tip: Hmmmm. Do I want to share this? They are all great...but my favorite is a secret... I need for it...

I can not say enough about the hospitality I received staying at Acorn Hill Lodge and Spa. I travel for work and the "same old" hotels and Inns just get so boring. Just barely out of the city, and a touch of country...That is only the begining. Most rooms are fully equiped with living space and kitchens. The common areas are welcoming and fun to share time with other guests. The country kitchen provides fully cooked to order breakfast along with having snacks available at all times. My husband had a great "catch" fishing one day and was able to put on a fish fry for guests and some other company we invited over...Robert and Wanda are gracious HOSTS and always make you feel at home. This Inn also has an wonderful Romantic theme to it also the private VIP suite is huge and beautiful with Roman Style jacuzzi and fireplace. I love the balconies off most of the suites to sit outside and enjoy the Virginia Breeze. Pet Friendly, and People Friendly also. Game Room in the basement for the pool players etc. Big Screen TV and WiFi makes you feel right at home. I chose to stay here for months while I worked in the area. I would go back there..no question about it. I can't comment on the Spa on the property as I did not utilize this option. However, I have heard very positive feedback about it. I have not been back since the new addition has been added. I was last there during the construction phase. When ever I travel, and rate accommodations I use my experience at Acorn Hill Lodge and the standard. Thank you for the wonderful times I spent there.

Room Tip: The king suites are beautifu, roomy and have full kitchens. There is an apartment suite over the spa...
