“Very S L O W service...”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

On the surface, this place is awesome. A renovated historic building right in the heart of downtown. Breakfast all day. Homestyle cooking.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to enjoy it since the food consistently takes over an hour to arrive. And this is breakfast for a party of two. Eggs. How long does it take? I understand it's quite busy on weekends, but there really is no excuse for making folks wait an hour for some freaking eggs. The servers were quite unfriendly to boot. The only nice person was a teenage dishwasher.

We finally got our eggs, by the way. They tasted fine. Just like Bob Evans.

“A Touch of the Thirties, downtown”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

This downtown casual dining restaurant is situated in a former Woolworth's and altho it has been extensively remodeled, it has been remodeled so as to retain the feel of the five-and-dimes of the Thirties and Forties, complete with the long wood lunch counter and creaky wood floors. The ambiance is 75% of the places charm but the food is pretty darn good too. The crowd is mostly a bit bohemian and the service is very good, They serve breakfast, lunch and from Wednesday to Saturday, dinner. A broad range of dishes are available. It's a mellow dining experience on a leisurely Saturday morning.

Reviewed August 13, 2012

Friendly atmosphere in the heart of the historic downtown district in Lynchburg. Breakfast and lunch have been my experience. Some real good southern choices as well as a creative menu,.. very family friendly. Great staff,. restored old department store is full of charm,. some evenings they have live music,.. no reservation are available you will find a lot of locals dine there consistently.. large tables are great for a small business meeting,..includes a small food store with a great beer and wine selection including some very good local varieties.

“Hummas and Pita Slices to go box lunch”
Reviewed July 28, 2012

I enjoyed the lighter fare menu item Hummas and Pita slices. The portion was smaller than I expected so I am glad I had ordered light potato chips and a cookie. It was very tasty.
