“Really good tour”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

Touring historical homes is not usually my cup of tea but I enjoyed this one. The tour conductor was knowledgable, entertaining and her presentation was top notch.

“A Must See While in Lynchburg”
Reviewed March 27, 2013

If you like to learn local history and see a beautiful home, take in Point of Honor. Some of the furniture has been linked to family members from the 1800's and other pieces were from the period. There were some interesting pieces and some I had not seen elsewhere. There had been meticulous attention to detail during the restoration to ensure accuracy, and the painstaking process was also included as part of the tour. The docent was excellent, and she took time with questions and added much to the history of the home. As our group arrived late in the afternoon, about an hour before the home was to close, we anticipated an abbreviated tour to fit the time frame. The docent provided the full tour and even offered extra time. It was a delightful afternoon, time well-spent, and southern hospitality was evident. Thank you for an exceptional experience.

“Interesting house”
Reviewed March 18, 2013

We visited when they had a festival going on the grounds so the house tour was a bit crowded but still worth it. Docent did a good job. Interesting history, and a nice tie in to local CIvil War activity. Worth a stop

“Nice historical preservation”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

I have visited many 19th century homes over the years and was especially impressed with the meticulous restoration of this house which restored it to it's early 1800's appearance. The tour guide did and excellent job with explaining fine points of the restoration process as well as behind the scenes information which helped to enrich the history experience. This property is located in a part of town that appears ran down and we were mildly concerned about walking the streets to look at other period homes.
