Our table of four was served by Josh who was an awesome waiter. We did not have wine, salads or appetizers opting instead to go all out on the entree. Two of us had Chateaubriand, prepared perfectly and served with mashed potatoes, broccoli and Brussel sprouts. One member of our party had the special 16 oz ribeye and the other had the 8 oz filet. They were both pleased with the way their steaks were prepared and served. We were all sadly too full for dessert, but look forward to trying some of the delicious options in the future.

My husband and I had dinner at The William & Henry to celebrate my birthday in January. Overall, the meal was good, but in no way good enough to warrant the $200 bill (including tax and tip). We started with cocktails, which were tasty, but were both pretty stingy pours for a premium price. For appetizers, we tried the shrimp cocktail and the seared foie gras. The shrimp cocktail was a perfectly adequate example of the form, while the foie gras was delicious. For our entrée we split the William & Henry 22oz aged ribeye, the whipped potatoes, and the wild mushrooms. The mushrooms were the one thing that I would order again. The potatoes were bland and a bit watery. The steak, while quite good, was not anything to get overly excited about. At $58 dollars and 40 days of aging, we were expecting greatness, but got perfectly fine. The true weak-link of the meal was the cheesecake we ordered for dessert. It was full of chunks of unincorporated cream cheese, and the pecan crust was so thick and tough, we had to leave half of it on the plate because we could not cut it with the dessert forks. The setting in the dining room is a big confused – a blend of old west steak house (steer head on the wall, cow hide on the chairs), William Morris style wallpaper on the ceiling, and strangely modern chandeliers, one of which looked very much like one of the alien space ships from the original Star Trek. All in all, the food was good and the service excellent, but as I told my husband as we left, we could have had a better meal in Lynchburg at two or three places at half the price.

Robyn, thanks for sharing your feedback from your visit back in January. We appreciate you and your husband giving us a try on such a special occasion. Thanks, for letting us know your service was outstanding. However, we are sorry to hear you were not both fully blown away by your meal. Hopefully, we will have another chance in the future to show you why our meals stand out.

We went for dinner and had the shrimp and pasta entree, a new York strip, brussel sprouts, and salad. All were good, as was the service. For us, this will be a special occasion restaurant and not one we would likely visit regularly. But we would return.

The moment you walk in you know you are in for something really special.
The romantic atmosphere and exceptional service can only be surpassed by the amazing cuisine of Chef Roger and his crew.
Being from a culinary city like New Orleans I know great dinning and William and Henry is it.
The steaks are fantastic but if your not a beef person their pasta dishes will amaze you. My wife and I have been eating here weekly for several months now and it's like a new experience each and every time. Ask for Jacob as your server and you can't go wrong. I don't usually write reviews, but there is nothing usual about this restaurant. Trust me this is one you have to try.

We had a very nice meal for a special occasion. I will say we arrived 15 minute early and was asked to take a seat until they could seat us. Didn't mind and we had a glass of wine. I was a little surprised when we taken to our table to see at least six vacant tables. I did speak to the manager and she indicated that they were short staffed but nobody mentioned that to us. She was very nice and apologized and took care of it.

We had a great meal. Our wait staff was very nice and helpful. We shared the crab cake appetizer to start and it was delicious. My wife had the flounder with crab. I had seen the lamb chops at other tables several previous times and decided to try them. The were delicious and plentiful.
I do have a suggestion for the wine by the glass. They might consider offering a second chardonnay. I am sure it is very good but $21 for a wine by the glass is a little steep.
All in all we look forward to our next evening at the William and Henry.
