“Don't miss Gunston Hall!”
Reviewed February 21, 2014

This is a great home to visit. The tour provided detailed information on the home, the man and the family. The items in the home are period and priceless. You will learn about a founding father who is not as famous as his counterparts, but a keystone member of the revolution. The property is vast and beautiful. If in the area, do take the time to visit.

“Excellent!”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

Gunston Hall is the home of forgotten founding father, George Mason, and it's truly beautiful! Docents here have to go through a rigorous course about history of the period and the Mason family. The views are beautiful, the property is lovely, and the house is fascinating! Definitely take a trip!

“Nice smaller colonial plantation”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Gunston Hall was the home of George Mason the father of the Bill of Rights and is a smaller plantation somewhat off the beaten path of tourists. More tourists should come explore the place it is much cheaper and smaller than Mt. Vernon but still has a great tour of the house and grounds to explore. George Washington was friends with George Mason and it makes sense to got to their houses together. I would highly recommend visiting!

“George Mason's home”
Reviewed October 28, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We went to George Mason's plantation home a week ago and took the tour. It was interesting and the guide was well versed in the details of the home. If you want an alternative or addition to Mt Vernon, this is a good option. The "we" was my husband, my adult children and me.
