We spend a wonderful fall family weekend enjoying the Inn and the beautiful countryside of Virginia, not to mention the vineyards and their settings up the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Inn itself in unforgettable--a beautiful location, lots of land, and a lovely old house, which manages to be cozy and still cling to its history. The food was remarkable--three course breakfasts and dinners that attract not only the inn's guests but also diners from the area--an area, by the way, where exceptional food is the norm, and not the exception. The owners were so welcoming, so accessible, and so eager to make sure that we had a wonderful time--and we did! We look forward to our next trip to the Inn--and maybe we'll take our golden retriever, since the Inn welcomes well-behaved furry guests! The Fishers

My husband and I stayed in the Madison cottage for our 21st anniversary. Everyone was so wonderful. They put great attention to detail. Their goal is to make your stay with them memorable. I would definitely recommend the package that includes the dinner basket, wine and cheese, and lots of other goodies... Restaurant is only opened for dinner Thursday thru Saturday.. Sorry we missed that because our dinner basket was out of this world good!! The property is beautiful to explore with a nice glass of wine. Got to meet the innkeepers.. Great people. Their golden retriever Callie is a sweetheart too. Can't wait to go back again! Thank you to everyone for making our stay so awsome!

From the moment you drive up to the plantation you feel like you stepped back in time. The rooms are very quaint and comfortable. The owners made us feel so welcome and they were very accommodating. The dinner and breakfasts were from local farms and incredible. There are many places to sit and relax, the living room, the back porch the lawn. We stayed in one of the dependencies and it was a treat, I kept imagining previous times there & if only the walls could talk. It is close in proximity to wineries and several other sites in the area. It is a must visit for history buffs or a relaxing get away.

What a great place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful VA countryside. My husband and I went, along with our two pooches, and had a fabulous time at the Inn. We had a private and very comfortable cottage, found the owners and staff to be incredibly nice and helpful, and on top of that, we had outstanding breakfasts and dinners! What's not to love?

Room Tip: We stayed in the Groom's Cottage. It's very charming; the only thing that kept us from ratin...

Very good historic inn on gorgeous grounds near Culpepper VA. Very nice breakfasts, including treats for our dog. Staff is personable and knowledgable of both the inn and the surrounding area. Be sure to dine at the inn's dining room during your stay as their dinners are excellent with a local wine pairing.
Also, be sure to enjoy the walking path around the property!

Room Tip: Call ahead for dog friendly rooms.

We stayed in the Lightfoot Room and the patio outside our room was worth the trip. We recently stayed at the inn as we visited the Montpelier Museum and the location was excellent. We relaxed as we overlooked a beautifully kept garden and enjoyed watching humming birds feed with occasional visits from a woodpecker. The innkeepers are very warm and accommodating and it was a pleasure talking to them. But by far the three course gourmet breakfast is worth every cent you spend!

Room Tip: Loved the Lightfoot Room with outside patio.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Meander Plantation. We went to get away from the city and relax before our first baby arrives (in October!). We stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute.

Our room (Madison Cottage) was very neat and clean. The walk-in shower was wonderful. The bed was very comfy, especially for afternoon naps! There was ample storage space for clothing.

The food was amazing! We had a wonderful 3 course breakfast every morning. We had an awesome picnic lunch and a dinner basket. My two favorite items that we had were the "Eggs Ranchero" and the Espresso Dark Chocolate Pots de Creme (was out of this world!). Our dog who is picky about food loved the homemade treats. She would do anything for them.

Suzanne (and Callie) was so accommodating and patient with our dog Cypress (she has a tendency to jump when she meets new people). We truly enjoyed talking and getting to know Suzanne. She is a wonderful and lovely hostess.

The grounds were perfect to walk around and just relax. We were able to see the cemetery on the far back side of the property (the walk to the cemetery is completely worth it!) The sunsets were beautiful every evening we were there. The Inn was the perfect location between Culpeper and Orange if you would like to get out and about. There are some great antique stores in the area and a really good chocolate shop in Culpeper.

We would highly recommend staying at the Meander Inn, and we hope to go back in the future!
