The Innkeepers Dave and Karen have owned the Brierley for 3 months now, and they have discovered their new talent. We gave them a challenge when we could not arrive until midnight, and needed directions for the last 15 minutes of our drive. Despite the time, Dave had the patience to guide us, and had a genuine smile on his face as he met us in the driveway and helped us up to our room.
We chose the "once upon a time " room for the king size bed. It is a beautiful corner room with many windows overlooking the countryside and distant mountain range. The bed was very comfortable with luxury linens and luxury pillows. The attached bathroom is spacious with plush towels and everything you need except a tub. The shower had great water pressure.
Soon we were enjoying a gourmet 3 course breakfast with our family of 8 and every attention to detail was noticed by Karen as she somehow noticed all the half empty coffee cups without hovering. They have wicker tables and chairs dotting the wrap around porch with a view of a lifetime to eat your breakfast , or a beautiful dining room if you don't like the climate outside.
Karen moves gracefully from table to table keeping an eye on plates and chatting while Dave does his magic in the kitchen. Within minutes you realize the environment is rich with friendliness and attention to details. One of our group had some diet restrictions and the concern to get something different for them was immediate. If you have a special diet need, just let them know and they will help . We did not know they would go to this effort, but they will: obviously if you let them know ahead of time, it will be easier for them to make you something special.
There are rooms just for gathering, and a convenience area that has a small fridge stocked with water and sodas and a coffee maker for that any time need.
I saw many of the rooms since family had taken over much of the inn, and each room is a nice size and there is one very special cottage suite that has a bedroom, large attached living room, and a state of the art bathroom. ( Look for a review from another family member who actually stayed in that cottage)
As our family enjoyed celebrating a milestone birthday, and came up with various requests, Dave and Karen never skipped a beat. They were always there and made our experience
the most memorable family get together we have had at an inn.
Karen and Dave have 2 of the friendliest dogs you will ever meet, but only if you want to meet them. The dogs are very comfortable in the Innkeeper suite, but would love to meet you if you want to meet them. They are suckers for a belly rub.
In conclusion, you should consider staying here if you love a peaceful experience, a spectacular view, luxury accommodations, and Innkeepers who will become friends.
In advance I beg Dave and Karen to save a spot for us periodically because we will be back.
