The cafe is a great space--lots of natural light, style is mix of modern(stainless steel chairs) and organic elements (pine wood tables with tiny flower vases on them). Servers are so-so; friendly and accommodating, but not paying attention to all the details (bringing out entrees while plates for appetizers still sitting on the table, for example). We split an amazing cheese plate. My daughter had mushroom ravioli (special that night) and loved it. I had the steak ordered med well and it was pretty awful, although smashed potatoes on the side were great. Steak was dry, tough, and flavorless--try ordering it medium or skip it all together, but do order a side of those great potatoes. Half price glasses of wine on Friday evenings, as well as some interesting original cocktails ("The Equestrian," for example, a nod to its close proximity to the Virginia Horse Center). By the way, I came in with my daughter, age 12, and they were very welcoming to her , as well as to several VERY casually dressed groups coming from the same horse event we were attending. Appreciate their acceptance of kids and casual attire.
