This is a very different kind of Hampton Inn experience due to the historic building in beautiful grounds. Very beautiful location. The room itself was pretty standard for a Hampton Inn - it seemed like it may have been a while since it was updated. But comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was your normal Hampton Inn breakfast but I have to say tasted better than usual for being in the historic part of the inn which is lovely.

We have stayed here 3 times and have never been disappointed. The service has always been outstanding, friendly, helpful, informative. The location is beautiful with such an easy walk to town. The grounds of the hotel are well kept and I would have loved to have more time to grab my book and sit peacefully reading under one of the many majestic old trees on this property. The breakfast is the average fair that you would find at most Hampton Inns. There was a different breakfast selection each morning, which is nice when you are staying several days in a row.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in picturesque Lexington. The Col Alto brings the charm of a B&B, but with the convenience of a chain. Staying at the Col Alto is perfect for the location and proximity to downtown Lexington.

Only downside: Front desk staff was a little lacking on customer service, and the breakfast was mediocre.

We stayed at this historic Hampton Inn July 2nd in a room with 2 queens. The building isn't like a typical Hampton Inn, but the accommodating staff and breakfast are. There is plenty of free parking. You won't be disappointed.

Great looking property that is well sited on a hill. Easy walking distance to downtown Lexington, W&L, etc. My daughter & I window-shopped, read menus and ultimately picked a bistro. Then we found an ice cream parlor for dessert. Helpful and professional staff at this Hampton. Clean, neat, modern, comfortable room. Good breakfast. A good value.

This is very simple: if you are overnighting in Lexington and do not stay at this Hampton Inn, shame on you!
Built around a 175 year old home, the inn is located in the historic district and the grounds are beautiful. The rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and gracious. The breakfast, in addition to that do your own waffle thing, includes omlets, sausage and potatoes. "I can not believe that this is a Hampton Inn!!!" Said it and heard it.

We were very pleasantly surprised that the pictures on the Hampton Inn website were spot on for the real hotel. Beautifully landscaped property, quaint front portion of the hotel which had historic value. Very friendly staff and perfectly located close to downtown Lexington. We visited the Stonewall Jackson Home, walked the downtown area, visiting museum at Washington and Lee university, and had a lowkey dinner at a local BQ place. Would definitely recommend for anyone, business, family, couples.
