We had lunch on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. We apparently were the first customers, and there was only one server, who doubled as the chef. It took 40 minutes to serve us our meals -- a crabcake sandwich and a breakfast burrito, neither of which was worth the wait. The crabcake was preformed and thawed, with little flavor. The breakfast burrito was OK, gigantic, but the spicy sausage overwhelmed the dish. Located in the heart of downtown Leesburg, amidst many other restaurants and shops. Sitting outside was nice. Free parking on weekends in the very close by public garage. Can't recommend.

My husband and I visit Leesburg, VA at least one a month. We like to try the different places to eat. Well we decided to try The Old Town Grill. What a lovely experience. Loved the setting...a rose on the table, a tapered candle, cloth table cloth and napkins. Food was excellent. One of the best burgers I have ever had. Dear Moe even brewed me a fresh cup of coffee. Loved that. My husband had the French dip which he really liked. It was just so nice to sit there and be waited on by a nice man, with a great view of activity outside and to have a romantic setting. Moe thanks for this lovely experience. We Shall Return.

Found ourselves in Leesburg looking for lunch and chanced upon Old Town Grill/LaLou. Saw both the lunch and dinner menus and thought they were trying to be too much but, boy, was I wrong! Mo, the owner, knows what he is doing with food. Period.
The menu reflects the owner's life, with culinary influences from Morocco, Spain, and France. Everything here was prepared and presented with knowledge, skill, and artistry. We tried the soup du jour - tomato - and it was unlike any other tomato soup I've had, tasting very much of the key ingredient enhance by an unidentified spice and a dash of cream. The fresh-baked bread with it made for a dynamite combination. (We ordered two extra portions to take home for dinner - that's how good this soup was!)
My wife got chicken kabob over saffron rice, which was tender, succulent and had beautiful flavor thanks to its marinade and grill smoke. A very simple but elegant lunch.
I thought I'd go plain with a salmon club sandwich but it was in no way ordinary. Served with lettuce and tomato on a long, thin roll like a mini-baguette, the salmon was perfectly cooked - moist and flavorful. The accompanying twice-fried steak fries were crisp and addictive.
Mo, was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We promised we'd be back.

Although the interior of the restaurant still has the warm early American ambiance, the food is much better. The present owner is the former owner of the La Lou restaurant which had been located adjacent to the Tally Ho Theater. Moroccan by descent, the owner offers a wide selection of different types of dishes ranging from traditional american, french, seafood and moroccan to provide a delightful dining experience. We started with the crab filled mushroom caps which were large and savory One of our entrees was beef tips cooked in a tagine. It was rich in flavorsome mid-east spices without being spicy hot. Another entree was french steak au poivre. But, the winner may have been the seafood paella. It was huge and full of fish, mussels and other seafood. The wine list was fairly limited, but adequate. On a cold winter night, the candles on the table, the gas fire, coupled with the guitarist, gave the evening a cozy feeling.
