Owner description: Morven Park was once the home of Virginia governor, Westmoreland Davis, and his wife Marguerite. More than 70 years after his death, the accomplishments and ideals of Gov. Davis still resonate within the 1,000 acres of this one-of-a-kind place. Each year 150,000 people visit the Park, whether participating in its competitive equestrian events, touring its three museums, attending educational and recreational programs, or just enjoying the beauty of the woodlands, mountainous ridge, historic buildings, and formal gardens. Summer tour hours for Morven Park's three museums are Thursday, Friday,Saturday, and Monday 12p.m.-5p.m. and Sunday 12p.m-5p.m. Starting September 1st, the museums will be open to the public Saturdays and Sundays 12:00 - 5:00, with the last tour starting at 4:00 pm. The historic gardens, Turkey Hill Farm, hiking trails, equestrian center and athletic complex are open every day. Operated by the Westmoreland Davis Memorial Foundation, Morven Park is a non-profit organization, relying on individual donations, memberships, and event income to finance its public programs and preservation of its historic and natural resources.

Lovely grounds and reasonably priced admission. The house is historic and worth a tour. The carriage museum was also fun.

This is an absolutely gorgeous park, serene and full if history. It is lovely for picnics, but also has museums that are interesting. events are held here and although I've not attended, the park is quite large and can hold many people.

“Great Day Trip to Morven Park”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

My wife and I visited Morven Park on a Sunday morning in July. Our tour guides name was Sara and she was an excellent tour guide. The mansion tour is 45 minutes and provides a look back at a great time and excellent views of the landscape from the second floor. We had a great time visiting the mansion.

“Good place for riding, sports, concerts, etc”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Excellent place for carriage rides and horseback riding. Recently the park started an adult football league which I joined and it's been a blast. Haven't visited the main park- the former governor's residence (the main attraction) but will at some point. Attended the NoVA Brewfest Summer 2013 here 3 wks ago and it was fun (park planners did a good job accommodating the various beer, food, and craft vendors, as well as keeping a high police presence to prevent drunks from driving- with alternate transit for those who had too much (buses to Catoctin Circle, though I didn't see any when I was there).

Very interesting tour of Morven Park's mansion. The guide was very good and we were the only two in the group. The carriage museum is worth seeing too. Plan on walking around the grounds and exploring when you visit. The grounds are beautiful for hiking.
