“Good for the Dahlgren area”

There isn't much to choose from around these parts but I would choose steamers. Went for dinner a few times, not a five star restaurant but for what It is I feel we definitely got what we paid for and we go back so I would recommend this restaurant to everyone :)

“Strange Atmosphere + Avg Food + Poor Service = Not Worth Your Time”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2013

In all fairness, we never intended to eat at Steamers: we planned to eat next door at Bollywood Masala for the first time only to discover it was closed for vacation. Rather than drive somewhere else or eat at Pancho's where we've been many times, we decided to give it a shot. Steamers appears to be a chain, which is fine, but the Key West-ish decor seemed oddly out of place in the Northern Neck. The food was fairly standard seafood fair, definitely nothing special. Left feeling all that could have been overcome with good service but I can only describe the waitress as disinterested. We ate in the non-smoking dining area so I can't speak to the bar but I suspect it's probably worth a drop in for Happy Hour. All in all, I would call it a less than average experience but reserve the poor ratings for really horrible experiences.

“Good place to eat.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013

This restaurant has 2 more restaurants next to it. The menu has a lot on it and is very busy to read. We walked in at the bar side (very smokey and loud) and we were greeted at once by the other side of the restaurant, very nice décor without the smell of tobacco smoke on this side. The staff was great with us; the waitress was busy and the manager took our drink order. We had the triple bang shrimp (great), cup of crab chowder (great), triple fried feast of 2 big pieces of flounder (ok) oysters (ok) and the crab cake (great) with broccoli. The batter on the fish and oyster was strange. None of the food was greasy that we ate. It has been a long time since I had a Rolling Rock on draft.

“Fun bar, good appetizers, mediocre food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013 via mobile

Steamers (the entire franchise) is always a fun bar to go to for happy hour and grab some apps. On Fridays they have cheap draft beers, and the boom boom shrimp is a delicious appetizer. The meals are overall fairly mediocre, not bad at all just not cuisine because that is not the goal of steamers. Steamers succeeds well in it's niche for a fun bar atmosphere with good seafood and good drinks!!

“Average Food with no flavor and mediocre service. May be good for happy hour.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

Steamers has a variety of foods on the menu but sides are ala cart. Fried shrimp were nice size but no spice. Stuffed shrimp was not as expected and i would not order again. Steak was not medium as ordered but more like med well. Crabmeat nachos were overcooked but manager took them off the bill. Appetizers were big enough to be a meal. Pricey though. Overall it was ok but didnt leave me with a come back attitude. Not too many options in Dahlgren Va.
