Have eaten Thai food everywhere, including Thailand and love it. This restaurant is a joke. Ordered Pad Thai, one of my test dishes, and it was something. Never have I been served any worse. It was not Pad Thai in any way. It was a gloppy mess of noodles in a thick gooey very heavy peanut sauce. Not edible. I was with a party of six, and all the other dishes were not good or authentic either. The only good thing was a version of shrimp like tempura. Beef dish everything overlooked in a sauce that tasted like it came from a bottle. None of the subtle blend of flavors so wonderful in real Thai cooking. Stay away!

We visited at 8:00 PM. There was not much of a crowd. The restaurant was clean and warm on a cold night. We had the Panang Curry which was very flavorful. The proprietress visited our table for a while when we had questions about the food. The only negative is that the menu prices were probably 20% more than we expected to pay. We would go back.

One of the few locally to try something different. Everything is freshly made to your choice of hotness. Healthier than most choices. Owner is friendly and accomodating.

We had a family meal (7 people, 3 generations) and really very much enjoyed our meals (tasty!). The chef does a fantastic job. The portions (entrees could be a bit more generous for the price charged). The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Unfortunately the service lacks direction and confidence. Chef Ramsay needs to come in and help if this restaurant is to survive.

I would try it again with hopes that they remedy the service aspect of this potential gem in a land of seafood and other local fried foods.

The Thai Pot has a great atmosphere - one of the nicer restaurants in town for style and quality of decor. We visited on a quiet Friday night in late October. The kitchen willingly substituted tofu for the chicken and shrimp listed on the menu. The food was excellent, but entree portions could be a bit more generous. We tried fried bananas for dessert - pieces of banana wrapped in a wonton-like skin, and deep fried; served with ice cream and honey - truly delicious. Coffee was very good, served in an individual French press pot. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
