We recently spent two nights at the Inn. We were traveling with two other couples who also stayed the Inn. The whole experience was GREAT! The rooms were clean and comfortable. The courtyard is wonderful, although it was still a little to chilly to enjoy it. The owner, Shaun, was there when we checked in and showed us to our rooms. He was very friendly and helpful in giving us directions for our plans to visit the wineries the next day. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely dinner there at the Inn the first night. The food was excellent. They are now serving breakfast, lunch and dinner 7days a week. Breakfast is included with your stay and was great. We did also have lunch on Saturday and it was excellent as well. Don't go if you are looking for a party scene but it is a perfect place to relax. There are several wineries within a 20 minute drive. Jacey Vineyard is great and we also really enjoyed Good Luck Vineyards. This is someplace I hope I am lucky enough to return to.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Cavalier, the Red Fox, and George Washington Suite. They were all great. The Geor...

A group of us stated at the inn for 2 weeks while on business in Kilmarnock. The rooms were clean and quiet. Breakfast was included and was very good. Lunch is also excellent. Things to be aware of: the inn does not serve dinner and not all the local restaurants are open every night. There was a problem with the cable when we were there, so most rooms only got 3 channels. The staff is not very friendly at first, but after the first week they were much nicer. In the past, we have stayed at The Tides, but will choose the Kilmarnock Inn instead. Janice and Amanda made our stay very special.

My wife and I recently stayed at the Kilmarnock Inn, to attend a nearby wedding, and we loved this place! We stayed in the Berkley room of the Harrison Cottage and it was perfect for us. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, and the king size bed was so comfortable. Our balcony also looked out over the courtyard that is nestled between all of the cottages. The staff was very friendly, and helpful, and the breakfast buffet (included with the room) was wonderful. The entire property was very charming. We would definitely stay here again!

My spouse and I enjoyed our three night stay very much. The entire staff, including Shawn the owner, were delightful people. The rooms are really small cottages enclosing a grassy area. This is especially nice if you are bringing your dog. They have a couple of cottages where dogs are allowed. However, watch out for George Washington, the resident black cat! There is an open deck attached to the main building with tables and chairs. It is a nice place to have a drink and relax in decent weather. Breakfast is included with the room and is acceptable, very home style. You can order from a limited menu or have the buffet. We tried both and did not prefer one over the other. Lunch and dinner are served most days. A reservation for dinner might be wise. Main Street, with its quaint shops, is only a few blocks long. However, it is right around the corner from the inn. We will definitely return next year.

Room Tip: None of the rooms have a telephone or a safe. All have a TV. Just be sure to request a dog cottage i...

We loved our stay at the Kilmarnock Inn! We arrived after the restaurant was closed but they kept the kitchen open for us and let us order anyway. Loved the decor in the restaurant and B&B - presidential theme. There are several buildings and each building is focused on a different president. We stayed in Mt. Vernon - the Martha Washington suite. It was very nice! Between all of the buildings is a beautiful courtyard, along with a cat named George Washington. There is also a building set aside as a meeting place, which we didn't use, but would be nice if you have several families staying there. Small thing that I liked: the shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom were bigger than normal hotel shampoos. Very nice for a family of 5! Most of the staff was very friendly, with the exception of one lady who was a bit surly to my husband on the phone when he needed to change our reservation. Overall, we have fond memories of the Kilmarnock Inn!

Room Tip: The Martha Washington Suite was handicapped accessible. A word of warning, because the shower was ha...

Beautiful property, well-maintained buildings and grounds, rooms are clean and updated, lots of neat stores all in walking distance of the inn. The first person we met on the way in from the back gate was the maid as we entered the property for check-in; she was smiling, friendly, and helpful, a delight. Now, the restaurant... the staff are friendly enough, and helpful when asked, but they need (and deserve) some basic wait-staff training. Just how to take orders, talk about the specials or soup of the day, open wine at the table, refill water glasses, seriously, just basic stuff; and with training, even average food and drink tastes better. As for the food, it's adequate. You will be nourished but nothing special to drive out of the way for. I will stay here again, but will eat elsewhere.
