“Worth every penny.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

We had a wonderful experience at Fossett's Restaurant this evening. Our reservation was for 8:30pm (You need to make a reservation, it was very busy.) We arrived a few minutes early and were seated right away. (They even took my coat and coat checked it for me!) We researched this restaurant prior to coming, so we were aware of the dress code, menu, and prices. We had 2 servers and the one who took our order was very knowledgable and was able to let me know right away (didn't have to ask the chef) what foods could be make gluten-free for me. Both were very polite and professional. When it was time for dessert, there wasn't anything on the menu that I could eat, so the server offered me another dessert that wasn't on the menu that I could eat. (Creme brûlée) It was delicious!! Overall, we were incredibly pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. We definitely recommend this treat! (It is also a hotel and it is beautiful! I love the doors and door knobs!)

“Great experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

Very attentive staff and excellent food. We had breakfast as part of a package with the hotel. I really enjoyed the great service - even though the tip was already included as part of the package, they were still very attentive. We also enjoyed dinner one evening and enjoyed great service in the evening as well.

“Very good, but we expected more”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012

We had Christmas day brunch at Keswick – it was not actually in Fossett’s restaurant (which is their premier restaurant) but in their downstairs banquet rooms. A good pianist, but few Christmas decorations. When we made reservations we were not told this, but expected it as it was to be a buffet. The food selection was a wide variety and of excellent quality as expected. A disappointment was no turkey, and sadly the prime rib and leg of lamb had been over cooked and were barely pink, and not even warm. Service was average at best – the staff were cordial and friendly, but seemed too busy because of so many large tables; we had to ask for silverware, water, and to have our wine poured several times. The actual price per person was $65. for the food only, which was competitive and definitely worth it, but the wine list was very limited and disappointing; there was an automatic 20% gratuity, which was acceptable, but there was also a large “Service Charge” - -never explained when making reservations and given the level of service, the mandatory gratuity, etc. this was overall not worth the price. This resort is now owned by the same company that owns The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond – we hope they can improve Keswick!

“Incredible food and friendly staff”

A couple of the best breakfasts I've ever enjoyed were had at this restaurant. I especially recommend the fresh trout over eggs. The view is SO pretty and the staff and service could not be better.
