Last year, I was looking around for a romantic weekend getaway for me and my girlfriend to get engaged. We stumbled upon Hope and Glory inn by chance and decided to go. We have not regretted that for a second. We received a royal welcome and enjoyed every second of our stay. The owners, Peggy and Dudley, did absolutely everything in their power for us to have a great time.

The memories of this weekend have been so dear to us, that when we were making plans for our wedding this summer, we decided to come back to Hope and Glory. Needless to say, the wedding was a huge success. Again, the owners came through big time. Our wedding getaway could not have been better. My wife and I are extremely happy with our decision to return to Hope and Glory and we hope to return many more times.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Hope and Glory last weekend. We loved everything about the inn, from our adorable bungalow, the amazing breakfast on the patio, the cruisers that we got to ride all over town, to the warm hospitality exhibited by the owners. We also loved the intimate dinner we had at the inn! Chef Anne was amazing and very accommodating. I just about licked my plate after each course.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a one night stay at the beautiful and comfortable Hope and Glory. From the moment we arrived we truly felt pampered. Peggy and Dudley were the perfect hosts and had called us prior to our arrival to discuss dinner reservations and to let us know they were looking forward to our visit. When we arrived, Peggy was concerned that a small bank reception being hosted, from 5 pm to 7 pm by the Inn, might interfere with our comfort and offered to upgrade us from our room in the Inn to one of their cottages. We loved our cozy one bedroom cottage and certainly enjoyed the fireplace on a chilly April evening. The bikes were a great way to get around town and Peggy sat with us before we left to make sure we had a local map which she had highlighted with places to visit. We rode our bikes around town and of course over to the vineyard. We loved the beautiful patio outside our cottage, where we enjoyed afternoon drinks. Peggy made us a reservation at the Trick Dog and Mezzeret (the gracious manager) was there when we returned to make us excellent after dinner drinks served by the fire. Our breakfast the next morning of fresh fruit and Eggs Benedict was excellent! Peggy, Dudley and Mezzeret made us feel welcome and comfortable. We look forward to staying at the Hope and Glory Inn again.

The Hope and Glory Inn was a perfect setting for the dinner party we held to mark our daughter's engagement. We hope that she and her fiance will decide to have their wedding there when they marry two years from now. A wonderful old building, cleverly repurposed (it was originally a schoolhouse), the inn has a common area with comfy sofas plus a full bar where our party gathered for (excellent) cocktails before sitting down at a long table in the charming dining room. Witty and festive touches abound, such as the composition books in the bar (which is called "Detention"); tiny white lights in the vine swags over the mirrors add to the romance of the setting. The staff (headed by the gracious Meseret) could not have been more warm and welcoming, greeting each member of our party as they came in and making everyone (including our two grandchildren, aged 3 and 6) feel at home. We planned the meal with Meseret a week ahead of time, and it was superb. Their spring menu was the basis of our meal (oysters with Asiago, green salad, rack of lamb with herbs with braised spinach, and tomato pudding), but we were able to accommodate guests who do not eat some of the items (such as red meat or oysters) with equally delicious alternatives (lemon chicken and mushrooms en casserole). No domestic wines are served at the Inn--a wise choice in our opinion--and we were delighted with the Cotes du Rhones (both white and red) that Meseret selected for our first courses. Because we love French champagne, and planned a champagne toast with dessert, the chef prepared a delightful chocolate zabaglione especially for us, which paired with the French demi-sec admirably. Although there were a few other guests in the dining room, the feel was very private, very fun, and very festive. The Hope and Glory Inn is at the top of our list for celebrating any special occasions in the future!

We stayed at Hope and Glory in mid-December and loved every moment. We could not have asked for more. The dining was outstanding, delicious food, attention to detail, perfect; the room was great and the bed so comfortable---very difficult to get up in the a.m. And the owners were friendly, gracious, attentive, warm, and welcoming. Could not have asked for more!

My husband and I and good friends spent New Years Eve at The Hope and Glory. The festivities were fun with an excellent meal, good Old fashioneds, plenty of wine! dancing and interesting people. And the breakfast was delicious
Our room was lovely with a porch and pleasant sunshine( it was freezing so of course we did not sit on the porch).
Peggy and Dudley are attentive, intelligent and helpful. The area is lovely with cute little stores if you are interested in shopping.
This is an inn with the best of what that is!

I recently held a group function at the Hope & Glory. I must say the only downfall I experienced was the fact my wife and I couldnt stay the night because of a medical appointment early the next morning. The food prepared by Chef Anne was excellent. The comments from my group were: best we have had yet, over the top, excellent. Mezzeret was very attendative and delightful caetring to every need., If you are local or live away you should put The Hope & Glory on your to do list.
