“A Must Place to Visit in Northern Virginia”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2012

My wife and I have been doing overnights in The Shenandoah area for the past thirty years and it took us till now to find the VERY BEST. Dayne Smith and Nancy Moon hosted us at the Glen Gordon Manor like family. What a beautiful place with truly gourmet food prepared by Dayne and his nephew Trent. The Manor from the walls to the beautiful window treatments are very beautiful. The food rivals/surpases anything we've encountered at the Inn at Little Washington and are served to you and explained by the masterful Dayne. This is a must visit for anyone wanting a true elegant experience in dining and overnight accomodations. Wait till you see their chickens running in the backyard. Nancy and Dayne make you feel like family and it is sincere. We will return often. It is the best. Dick & Mimi Naab

Room Tip: We would prefer the cottage (I snore) but anywhere will do perfectly

We chose Glen Gordon to house ourselves, close family and wedding party during a weekend wedding at a nearby winery. The surroundings were incredible - bucolic, idyllic, peaceful - everything looked like a postcard. The staff were attentive and hospitable without being intrusive, and prepared a wonderful multi-course breakfast for us every morning. The rooms are beautifully appointed, clean, and luxurious. We plan to return each year to celebrate our anniversary; that's how much we loved it. One of our favorite hotels of all time.

Room Tip: The Windsor and Wakefield bathrooms are incredible. The Gordown Mews house is incredibly spacious...

My wife and I spent an extended weekend at this beautiful Bed & Breakfast a few weeks ago and it exceeded our every expectation. The cottage was beautiful, the grounds were breathtaking and the food/wine were outstanding!

We returned yesterday from our second stay at Glen Gordon and it was amazing. The staff, the rooms, the grounds, the food, the wine....all impeccable! Dayne, Nancy and Trent go out of their way to make you feel at home. We ate dinner there on both nights and it surpassed the dinner we had at the The Inn at Little Washington on our last visit. The breakfasts were also outstanding. We could not have asked for anything more. We are already plannning a return trip in the spring.

So a friend and I decided we needed a weekend out of DC, and I happened upon Glen Gordon Manor after browsing through bed and breakfasts in the area. Luckily, the Wakefield Suite was available here, and we snapped it up in a minute after reading all of the amazing reviews on the place. Being relatively new to the area, I value others' opinions on where to stay/eat/etc, and everyone has been completely spot on with this place.

I honestly can't say enough good things about the Glen Gordon Manor. I've traveled extensively and stayed at many nice places, but this place is truly unique. Not only are the rooms exquisite (with so many luxurious amenities from the beautiful walk-in glass shower/claw foot tub to the provided ipad that was attached to built-in speakers) and the food unbelievably amazing, but it's more the spirit of the hosts that is one-of-a-kind. By the time we left the next day, my friend and I felt like we were members of the family and didn't want to leave! From the minute we arrived (and were handed our first glass of wine), we felt instantly like we were being treated like the royalty we believe ourselves to be in our heads. :) Do yourselves a favor and don't miss the five-course dinner with wine pairing as well. Dayn & Trent are amazing chefs, and much of the food comes from right there on the grounds (including the colorful eggs laid by the chickens running around--in a fence--outside). The grounds are impeccable and the service completely top-notch.

We've already booked our return trip to stay here again in a few weeks to enjoy the amazing fall foliage. On our first visit, we toured a few local wineries, but we've now decided there's no reason to leave to GGM grounds and plan to just stay and relish in the service, food, hospitality, and generosity that is offered here. I can't remember ever seeing another place that has been rated five stars by everyone that has stayed there, but this place truly deserves every accolade bestowed upon it. This is a *MUST VISIT* for sure!!

My wife and infant daughter met a couple friend of ours who brought along their 1 year old and overall the experience was truly remarkable. From the moment we drove onto the luxurious estate, we were treated with exceptional hospitality, patience, and kindness. When we arrived, the dinner chef and nephew of the owner, Trent, greeted us with a glass of wine and helped us carry our bags to the room. From there, the wine kept flowing all the way through the very special five course dinner, while the babies slept. The food was delicious, beautifully prepared, but not too fussy. We will certainly be back, and hope to make a stay at the Glen Gordon Manor a yearly trip.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights on our way down from New York to a wedding in South Carolina. We did extensive research and wanted something near the Luray Caverns. Both of us are not easy to please. Based on the Glen Gordon's website, the reviews on Trip Advisor and our excellent interaction with the innkeeper's nephew Trent, we decided to give Glen Gordon Manor a try.

And we are certainly glad we did. From the moment we arrived to our departure, we had a wonderful experience. My wife and I were encouraged to enjoy all the Bed & Breakfast had to offer. As an animal lover, I especially enjoyed picking apples from the trees, feeding apples to their horses and holding their baby chickens.

Both mornings Dayn prepared three-course gourmet breakfasts and paid special attention to my lactose intolerance.

We stayed in the Windsor Suite and couldn't be more pleased with the spacious accommodations. The in-room Ipad with Netflix convinced us we needed to exchange a pair of these for the Holidays. My wife enjoyed the double-headed spa shower, upscale bath products and the salon-style hair dryer.

We especially enjoyed hanging out with Nancy and Dayn and talking over a bottle of wine in their sunroom. Nancy, Dayn and Trent made us feel welcome during our entire stay and we felt this not only in our private suite, but in their home. They treated us like instant friends.
