“Great spot for lunch.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

We were at The Homestead for a weekend conference, and had the opportunity to dine at Sam Snead's for both dinner and lunch. I prefer lunch here - it's golf themed with Sam Snead's golfball collection, pictures, etc., so the ambience is just better for lunchtime. The service (I think it is owned by The Homestead; we were able to charge our lunch to our room) was excellent at both lunch and dinner. It is a short and pleasant walk from The Homestead. If you're staying at the resort for a few days, get away from the grounds and visit Sam Snead's.

“Overpriced”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

The service was very poor. They wouldn't seat us since we hadn't made reservations and instead offered us seating at the bar, while tables remained empty and wait staff without tables.
Some of the wait staff spoke loudly to each other in Jamaican Patois, I guess figuring no one would understand them. The prices were high for the quality of food and as such I think they can hire a local wait staff that are more polished.

Great casual atmosphere for dinner. Super steaks and the best Caesar salad I've ever eaten. The blueberry cobbler for dessert is recommended, but make sure they get it got enough for you.

“Overpriced and rushed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2013

The food here is fine but very overpriced. Oddly, they were out of their signature "Slammin' Sammy" beer...kind of bad considering he is the namesake. We also felt pretty rushed...I feel like they serve on a resort "must keep moving them through" schedule. The atmosphere is casual. The tavern is within pleasant walking distance of The Homestead or you can take a shuttle to and from. If you choose to eat here, that is...
