“good breakfast, large portions”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

Cool, clean place to go for breakfast, especially if you're staying at Homestead and don't want to pay big prices. It's true that their pies are amazing. Definitely worth visiting and very nice servers.

“Save room for the peanut butter pie!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

We love this restaurant. It's a quaint café. Nothing fancy, but the food is always good. I had the catfish the last time and my husband (who does not like catfish) ate most of my meal. Save room for the peanut butter pie or buy one to go. It is delicious.

“Nice break from Hot Springs prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014 via mobile

Average cafe, plenty of parking, plenty if tables, good service. Food was okay but only had breakfast items. Traditional roadside cafe fair at a convenient location.

“Our stay at The Homestead was saved by the Country Cafe!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2014

We could have come away from our weekend at The Homestead feeling resentful for overspending and not as appreciative of the experience had we not found ways to game the system. We ate several meals -- dinner after arriving and breakfast each morning -- at the Country Cafe down the road. The Country Cafe offers wonderful food and service and a great price. Dinner was delicious and very inexpensive. We were the only ones in there who weren't local regulars -- and that's so puzzling, considering the ease and value of eating there over the pricey meals and upscale ambiance at The Homestead. GET THE HOMEMADE PIE. Between the six of us, we tried several different kinds, including the peanut butter which everyone raves about on TripAdvisor. One of us got the peach cobbler. Oh my goodness, we've never had such delicious desserts. Honestly, they are fabulous. We paid about $40 for six people to eat a hearty breakfast at the Country Cafe, and it's $30 per person at The Homestead. We ate at Sam Snead's Tavern one night with another family who arranged it, but ate no other $$$ meals at The Homestead. That family had been going to The Homestead for 13 years and had never eaten at the Country Cafe -- we took them with us for breakfast the next morning, and they went crazy over it and over the fact that they had not discovered it before. It's not crowded there at all, getting a table was not a problem. If word really gets out about the Country Cafe, that will change!

“A better choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

Almost next door to the Homestead, breakfast is a much better value than paying $27 pp at the Homestead. And it's delicious too.
