The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. “A bit pricey, but completely worth it!”
Reviewed February 15, 2014

We went during the New Year's Eve promotion where you got 6 courses (2 were tiny) for $80 per person or $120 per person with wine pairings. We went with another couple and it worked out that everyone got something different so we all were able to try everything. And everything was absolutely awesome. The wine pairings were perfect and tasty. You know it's good when you put food in your mouth and they only thing you can think is "I can't believe food is this good!". Service was also great. It is slightly more formal than what we are used to, but it's a special event, so you just go with it. JWH is an experience and after living in the area for 11 years, we are so glad we finally went.

“Fine Dining in Harrisonburg”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

This is a first rate restaurant by any standards, and in our view the best in Harrisonburg. Definitely a "special event" dinner place.

“Finest Restaurant in the Shenandoah”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

The food was excellent and the service impeccable. If you have time have a drink in the bar. The bartender was personable and made the best Whiskey Sour I've had in many years. The Martini was also top notch. I had the Duck as my entre' - it was perfect (Ask for additional sauce). The appetizers were the right size and delicious. The dessert was sublime. Everything was just right for a very special night in this upscale restaurant - they really try hard.

Suggestion: Give the bus boy a white server's jacket. In this fine restaurant the bus boy should not be wandering around in a non descript shirt with his sleeves rolled up. He damaged the image.

“Always a Pleasure to Dine at this Fine Establishment”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

Every time we are in Harrisonburg, we make sure that we go the the Joshua Wilton House. Very elegant to walk in and see the high ceilings and lovely furniture however, the food is always the best meal we have while in Harrisonburg. The last time we ate there I had the fettuccine with 2 different kinds of mushrooms and it was superb. The salad was so fresh and the dressings are incredible. It is a wonderful treat to have a nice dinner out and this was our best meal in Harrisonburg! We also participated in the Couples Dinner which is $55 for 2 entrees, split salad and split dessert. It was perfect portions. We weren't overstuffed but we certainly weren't hungry when we left there.

“Wonderful Meal”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

We ate at the Joshua Wilton House during a recent stay.

The dining was very, very good, and better than many meals that we have paid far more for. Appetizer, salad, entrée and desert were all first rate. The only small issue that I had was that the Filet I ordered needed a steak knife, as the standard knife "squish" cut the steak. The steak knife was provided and all was well. Service was great and provided by a strong team.

If I lived in Harrisonburg, we would be regular's here. Nicely done.
