I went with an avid quilt maker and she was delighted with the exhibits. When we went there was an old wick quilts exhibit downstairs and a really unusual one of diseases made into quilts. They had a picture of the cells of that the particular disease next to the quilt of that picture. Very different and interesting. It's a little pricey for this small town, but I don't think quilters mind investing in a quilt museum.

Not only is the handwork on the quilts in the museum fanstastic, the quilts are works of art as well as documents of history. The exhibits are changed frequently, so you usually see something new. It doesn't take long to tour, but it's a nice little museum.

Really enjoyed the topical nature of the exhibits, which had to do with civil war quilts. Also a special traveling exhibit from a quilt club in Richmond Beautiful work.

Though quitting is not my thing, a quilter friend suggested this visit. The museum is small but the creativity of the featured quilters is worth a visit. Shouldn't take more than an hour to visit

This is a great museum. It's small, but filled with lovely quilts from Virginian quilters. It's the official quilt museum of the Commonwealth. The staff is friendly and they are mostly all volunteers. The museum is open from February - December and it is open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm.
